2018 Riga Masters
The 2018 Kaspersky Riga Masters was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 27 and 29 July 2018 at the Arena Riga in Riga, Latvia. It was the first ranking event of the 2018/2019 season. Ryan Day was the defending champion, however he lost 3–4 to Ali Carter in the last 64. Liang Wenbo made the highest break of the tournament with 140 in the second round against Neil Robertson. Liang potted all blacks with reds during the break but this was not a maximum break as he potted 13th and 14th reds in the same shot. Neil Robertson won the event for the second time in three years, winning his 14th ranking title, defeating Jack Lisowski 5–2 in the final. This was Lisowski's first ranking event final. Ryan Day (snooker Player)
Ryan Day (born 23 March 1980) is a Welsh professional snooker player. A prolific break-builder, he has compiled over 400 century breaks during his career, including two maximum breaks. He is a three-time World Championship quarter-finalist, has been ranked at no. 6 in the world and has won four ranking tournaments. Career Early career Day was born in Pontycymer, Bridgend (county borough), Bridgend. A top amateur, he reached the final of the IBSF Championship in China in November 1998 but lost on the final black. Day began his professional career by playing Challenge Tour (snooker), UK Tour in 1998, at the time the second-level professional tour. Stuart Carrington
Stuart Carrington (born 14 May 1990) is an English professional snooker player. He practises frequently with Steven Hallworth and Ian Glover in Grimsby. In May 2011, Carrington qualified for the 2011–12 professional Main Tour as one of four semi-finalists from the third and final Q School event. Career Debut season Carrington won just two matches during the 2011/2012 season. Joe Swail
Joe Swail (born 29 August 1969) is a Northern Irish former professional snooker player from Belfast. He retired in May 2019 after being relegated from the tour. He has reached ten major ranking semi-finals, including the 2000 and 2001 World Championships but only one final. Swail is renowned for playing well at the Crucible Theatre, having reached the last 16 on four further occasions. He is also a former English amateur champion and Northern Ireland amateur runner-up, and has captained Northern Ireland internationally. He was Irish champion in 1992 and 2005. Mei Xiwen
Mei Xiwen (;born October 8, 1982) is a Chinese former professional snooker player. Career Mei made his debut on the Main Tour in the 2009/2010 season, as the ACBS Asian nomination, playing his first match at the 2009 Grand Prix. He lost 5–0 to Patrick Wallace, and was defeated in his next two matches, in the UK Championship and the Welsh Open, to Atthasit Mahitthi and Stephen Rowlings respectively. Mei recorded his first win as a professional in the 2010 China Open, where he beat Noppadol Sangnil 5–4, having trailed 4–2, but lost in the next round, 5–1 to Robert Milkins. Mark King (snooker Player)
Mark King (born 28 March 1974) is an English professional snooker player. Having turned professional in 1991, King was ranked within the world's top 32 players between 1996 and 2015, and won his first ranking event title in 2016, defeating Barry Hawkins 9–8 in the final of the Northern Ireland Open. He has also appeared in two other ranking tournament finals: the 1997 Welsh Open, where he lost 2–9 to Stephen Hendry; and the 2004 Irish Masters, where Peter Ebdon defeated him 10–7. King has reached the last 16 of the World Championship seven times, in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2009 and 2013, but has never progressed beyond this stage. Xu Si
Xu Si (; born 24 January 1998) is a Chinese professional snooker player. Career Xu Si first started playing snooker aged 12 at his local club in Jieyang during the school holidays. After a few weeks he became determined to become a snooker player. Prior to turning professional, Xu began playing in minor-ranking Asian Players Tour Championship from age 15, and his first appearance at a ranking event was in the wildcard round of the 2014 Shanghai Masters where he was whitewashed 5-0 by Ryan Day. Lukas Kleckers
Lukas Kleckers (born 18 May 1996 in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German professional snooker player. Career Kleckers first drew attention in 2013 when, at the age of 17, he captured the highest ranking and most prestigious amateur event in Germany by defeating Roman Dietzel 4–2 in the final of the German Amateur Championship. Robbie Williams (snooker Player)
Robbie Williams (born 28 December 1986) is an English professional snooker player. Williams turned professional in 2012 after qualifying in Event 3 of the Q School and gained a two-year tour card for the 2012/13 and 2013/14 snooker seasons. Amateur career He has represented England in a number of amateur competitions, including the World Under 21 Championships in India. Williams has won the Merseyside Open five times. Sam Craigie
Sam Craigie (born 29 December 1993) is an English professional snooker player from Newcastle. He enjoyed a successful junior career before turning professional in 2011. Career Early career Craigie qualified for the 2011/2012 Main Tour after winning the 2010 IBSF World Under 21 Championships. Chris Wakelin
Chris Wakelin (born 16 March 1992) is an English professional snooker player from Rugby, Warwickshire. He practices in Bar 8 in Rugby. Career Early career Wakelin started playing snooker aged 8, when his parents Mark and Angie bought him his first mini snooker table, and by the time he was 11 he was successfully playing in the local league. However, his career nearly came to a halt at the age of 17 when he had to start working full-time as an ASDA delivery driver to support himself financially, and only played snooker as a hobby. Rod Lawler
Rod Lawler (born 12 July 1971) is an English professional snooker player. He is noted for his slow playing style which gave rise to his nickname, "Rod the Plod". After turning professional in 1990, Lawler has reached one ranking tournament final—the 1996 International Open—where he lost 3–9 to John Higgins, and has won one minor-ranking tournament – Event 3 of the 2012/2013 Players Tour Championship – where he defeated Marco Fu 4–2 in the final.
