2018 Pacific Handball Cup
The 2018 Pacific Handball Cup is a multi venue Handball tournament featuring countries based on the Pacific Ocean from April to December 2018. This will be the first tournament since 2006 and the first to feature countries from the American continent. The first leg was carried out in Mexico during April. The other legs will be completed by October with the finals to be held on Hawaii in December. The championships were abandoned, as the Oceania teams concentrated on the 2018 Oceania Men's Handball Challenge Trophy and both the Australian Women's and New Zealand women's team's playing in the 2018 Asian Women's Handball Championship. 2018 Asian Women's Handball Championship
The 2018 Asian Women's Handball Championship was the 17th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship, which took place from 30 November to 9 December 2018 in Kumamoto, Yamaga and Yatsushiro, Japan. The tournament was held under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation and acted as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Women's Handball Championship. South Korea won their fourth straight and 14th overall title after defeating Japan in the final. Draw The draw was held on 6 August 2018 at the Hotel Nikko in Kumamoto. New Zealand Women's National Handball Team
The New Zealand Women's National Handball team is the national handball team of New Zealand and is controlled by the New Zealand Handball Federation. History The Handball New Zealand (HNZ) was founded in 1994. In 2005 a second federation the New Zealand Handball Federation (NZHF) was found. Both federations had teams at the Oceania Nations Cup 2007 and 2009. In 2006 the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) suspended the HNZ. Later by the International Handball Federation (IHF). They suspended the HNZ because the HNZ was closely aligned with Vern Winitana president of the Oceania Handball Federation (OHF). He was kicked off the IHF Council in 2009. One week later the IHF Congress recognized the NZHF. In 2010 the Sports Tribunal of New Zealand dismissed the lawsuit of the HNZ against the NZOC for the suspension. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team.
