2018 Montreal Alouettes Season
The 2018 Montreal Alouettes season was the 52nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 64th overall. The Alouettes improved upon their disappointing 3–15 record from 2017, but still failed to qualify for the playoffs for the fourth straight season, finishing with a 5–13 record. This was the first season under former NFL head coach Mike Sherman and the second season under general manager Kavis Reed. The Alouettes hosted their training camp for the first time at Olympic Stadium with rookies reporting on May 16 and main camp beginning on May 20. Offseason CFL draft The 2018 CFL Draft took place on May 3, 2018. The Alouettes held the first overall draft pick by virtue of finishing in last place in 2017, but traded it to Hamilton in exchange for the second overall pick and several other picks and players. Canadian Football League East Division
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks. Several now-defunct teams have also played in the East Division including two teams from the United States and a large number of teams that have played in Hamilton, Montreal, and Ottawa prior to the current teams from those cities. Andrew Lue
Andrew Lue (born March 17, 1992) is a retired Canadian football defensive back. In the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings, he was ranked tenth best of the players eligible in the 2014 CFL Draft. He was then drafted tenth overall by the Montreal Alouettes and signed with the team in May 2014. He was then traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on October 12, 2016. On February 14, 2017 hew signed a contract with the Edmonton Eskimos. He then signed a contract with the Ottawa Redblacks on February 15, 2018. Early years Lue was born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Toronto, and Markham, Ontario. He played football and basketball at St. Brother André Catholic High School, where he competed as a wide receiver, defensive back and running back. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Markham () is a city in the Regional Municipality of York, Ontario, Canada. It is approximately northeast of Downtown Toronto. In the 2021 Census, Markham had a population of 338,503, which ranked it the largest in York Region, fourth largest in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and 16th largest in Canada. The UConn Huskies football team is a college football team that represents the University of Connecticut in the sport of American football. The team competes in NCAA Division I FBS as an Independent. Connecticut first fielded a team in 1896, and participated in Division I-AA until 1999. The Huskies began their two-year Division I-A transition period in 2000, and became a full-fledged Division I-A team in 2002. From 2000 to 2003 the team played as an independent. The school's football team then joined the conference of its other sport teams, the Big East (later named the American Athletic Conference (the American) in 2013), taking effect in 2004, through 2019.
