The 2018 Liga Dominicana de Fútbol season (known as the ''LDF Banco Popular'' for sponsorship reasons) is the fourth season of professional Association football, football in the Dominican Republic. Atlántico FC are the reigning champions, having won this first title 2017 Liga Dominicana de Fútbol, last season. Team changes

While there is no promotion or relegation involving this league, there were changes to the composition of the league from last season. Bauger FC have left the league following last season. Meanwhile, three new teams have joined the league: Don Bosco Jarabacoa FC, Jarabacoa FC, Inter de Bayaguana, Inter RD, and Atlético de San Francisco. Thus, the league now has 12 teams in total.

Liga Dominicana De Fútbol
The Liga Dominicana de Fútbol is the first professional football league in Dominican Republic, it was launched in March 2015. For sponsorship reasons it is known as ''LDF Banco Popular''. History Prior to the league's establishment, football in the Dominican Republic is only played in amateur level, partly due to football not being the top sport among Dominicans, who are more inclined to baseball and basketball. To address the issue and to raise the status of football in the country, the Dominican Football Federation has decided to implement the idea of a new professional league in the country, to attract more people into the sport. Thus, the Liga Dominicana de Fútbol was approved, as an attempt to raise the country's football profile. The first season began in 2014. 2019 Caribbean Club Championship
The 2019 Caribbean Club Championship was the 21st edition of the Caribbean Club Championship (also known as the CFU Club Championship), the first-tier annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), a sub-confederation of CONCACAF. The tournament was played in Jamaica between 12–19 May 2019. Atlético Pantoja were the title holders, but did not compete in this season's CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship. Portmore United were crowned Caribbean club champions for the second time and qualified for the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League. Cibao FC Stadium is a football stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. It is currently used for football matches and hosts the home games of Cibao FC of the Liga Dominicana de Fútbol. The stadium holds 8,000 spectators. La Vega, is the fourth largest city and municipality of the Dominican Republic. It is in La Vega Province. The city is known as the Carnaval epicenter of the Dominican Republic for its tradition and culture, its large agricultural production methods throughout its province.
