2018 La Course By Le Tour De France
The fifth edition of La Course by Le Tour de France, a women's cycling race held in France, took place on 17 July 2018. The event was organised by Amaury Sport Organisation, ASO, which also organised the Tour de France. It was the 15th race of the 2018 UCI Women's World Tour. Route and format The race returned to a single stage format in 2018, following the criticism of the 2017 La Course by Le Tour de France, 2017 edition's pursuit stage. This was welcomed by the peloton and media. The race ran from Duingt, at the shores of Lake Annecy, to Le Grand Bornand, covering 118 km, and took in the Col de la Colombière. It was be held before stage 10 of the men's 2018 Tour de France, which also finished in Le Grand Bornand. The finale was identical to the men's stage. After the top of the 16.3 km long Col de la Colombière, 15 km was left to the finish. 2018 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2018 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that included twenty-four road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2018 in women's road cycling, 2018 women's cycling season. It was the third edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with 2018 Strade Bianche Women, Strade Bianche on 3 March and concluded with the Tour of Guangxi on 21 October. Anna van der Breggen of the Netherlands was the defending champion. Van der Breggen, riding for the team, was unable to defend her title, as she finished third in the standings behind compatriots Annemiek van Vleuten () and Marianne Vos, who was riding for the squad. Duingt
Duingt (; frp, Douin) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. The history of the place starts in the Bronze Age (from 1400 to 700 BC) where the first habitats for human settlements were evolved. It was in this epoch where the hallmark of Duingt, the island called ''the island of Roselet'', has been evolved from the lake. The first prehistoric objects such as pieces made of ceramic, bracelets and rings which are exhibited at the museum of Annecy have been found in 1856. Further pieces which relate to prehistoric settlement have been exposed in 1860. Sights The church of Duingt was built in the 19th century in Neo-Gothic style. Katarzyna "Kasia" Niewiadoma (born 29 September 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Among her wins are the Amstel Gold Race, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the stage race The Women's Tour. She is a former national champion in both the road race and time trial events. 2015 La Course By Le Tour De France
The 2015 La Course by Le Tour de France was the second edition of La Course by Le Tour de France, a one-day women's cycle race held in France. The race was run before the 21st stage of the 2015 Tour de France on 26 July. It was organised by the ASO and rated by the UCI as a 1.1 category race. Route The race used the same course as the 2014 edition of the race, 13 laps of the traditional course on the Champs-Élysées in Paris – making a distance of . The 2018 Tour de France was the 105th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's three Grand Tours. Col De La Colombière
Col de la Colombière (elevation 1613 m) is a mountain pass in the Alps in the department of Haute-Savoie in France. It connects Cluses in the Arve valley with Le Grand-Bornand in the Bourne valley. The road then leads further to Annecy or over Col des Aravis to the Arly valley and is situated between the Massif des Bornes to the north-west and the Chaîne des Aravis to the south-east. The pass is not an important traffic route because there are better roads that parallel it, particularly the A40 autoroute.
