2018 Korean Tour
The 2018 Korean Tour was the eighth season of the Korean Tour to carry Official World Golf Ranking points. The season consisted of 17 events, three of which are co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. All the tournaments had prize funds of at least 500 million won (approximately US$480,000). Nine have prize funds of 1 billion won ($960,000) or more. Order of Merit The Order of Merit was titled as the Genesis Points and was based on prize money won during the season, calculated using a points-based system. The leading player on the tour (not otherwise exempt) earned status to play on the 2019 European Tour The 2019 European Tour was the 48th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 11th edition of the Race to Dubai. Park Sang-hyun (golfer)
Park Sang-hyun ( ko, 박상현; born 24 April 1983) is a South Korean professional golfer. Since 2014 Park has played primarily on the Japan Golf Tour, where he has two wins, in 2016 and 2019. Before 2014 Park played on the Korean Tour, his first wins coming in 2009. He finished third behind Lee Westwood and Miguel Ángel Jiménez in the 2011 Ballantine's Championship, an event co-sanctioned with the European Tour and the Asian Tour. Park continues to play on the Korean Tour, where he has won a total of eight times, including the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in 2016 and 2018. He finished runner-up in the 2018 Kolon Korean Open, one of the Open Qualifying Series events, to gain entry to the 2018 Open Championship, his first major championship. Kim Tae-hoon ( ko, 김태훈; born 15 September 1985) is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the Korean Tour. He has won four times on the tour, including the 2020 Genesis Championship. Professional career Kim turned professional in 2005 and made his debut on the Korean Tour in 2007. However, he had little success until 2013 when he won the Bosung CC Classic and had 8 top-10 finishes in the 11 events he played in. He finished third in the points-based Order of Merit and fourth in the prize money list. He had less success in 2014 but was twice runner-up, in the Happiness Songhak Construction Open and the KJ Choi Invitational, and finished 16th in the money list. The KPGA Championship is a men's professional golf tournament that has been held annually in South Korea since 1958. Together with the Korea Open it is the longest running event on the Korean Tour. It is organised by the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA). Since 2016 the total purse has been KRW1,000,000,000 with KRW200,000,000 to the winner. The Kolon Korea Open, as it is currently known for sponsorship reasons, is a men's professional golf tournament that has been held annually in South Korea since 1958. The Korea Open was an event on the Asia Golf Circuit from 1970 until 1981. The Maekyung Open was founded in 1982 to replace it on the circuit, which allowed rescheduling of the Korea Open to later in the year. It became a stop on the Asian Tour from 1998 to 2008, except for 2005, and then part of the OneAsia Tour schedule from 2009 to 2017, before returning to the Asian Tour in 2018. In 2019, the total purse is KRW1,200,000,000 with KRW300,000,000 to the winner. The event has been played at Woo Jeong Hills since 2003.
