George H.W. Bush Field (commonly known as Bush Field, originally Yale Field) is a stadium in West Haven, Connecticut, just across the city line with New Haven, Connecticut. It is primarily used for the Yale University baseball team, the Bulldogs, and, until 2007 was also the home field of the New Haven County Cutters Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball minor league baseball team. Yale's baseball team has played continuously at the same site since 1885 while the field was constructed and opened in April 1928. Brett Boretti (born December 14, 1971) is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Columbia Lions baseball, Columbia since the start of the 2006 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2006 season. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Division III (NCAA), Division III Franklin & Marshall Diplomats, Franklin & Marshall from 2001 to 2005. As a head coach, Boretti has led teams to four NCAA tournaments, three of them in Division I (NCAA), Division I. Playing career Boretti attended Davidson College, where he graduated from in 1994. The Ivy League is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising eight private research universities in the Northeastern United States. The term ''Ivy League'' is typically used beyond the sports context to refer to the eight schools as a group of elite colleges with connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism. Its members are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. While the term was in use as early as 1933, it became official only after the formation of the athletic conference in 1954. Ivy League Baseball Championship Series
The Ivy League Baseball Championship Series is the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I Ivy League. The top two finishers from the round-robin regular season participate in a best of three series held at campus sites, with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. History In 1930, six of the eight Ivy League teams formed the Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League. Harvard joined in 1934, while Brown, Army and Navy joined in 1948.
