2018 Italian F4 Championship
The 2018 Italian F4 Championship Powered by Abarth was the fifth season of the Italian F4 Championship. It began on 29 April in Imola and finished on 21 October in Monza after seven triple header rounds. The title was clinched by Enzo Fittipaldi, who won the season finale. Teams and drivers Race calendar and results The calendar was published on 22 October 2017. For the first time in the history of the championship, it included a circuit outside of Italy with a round being held at Circuit Paul Ricard in Southern France. Championship standings Points were awarded to the top 10 classified finishers in each race. No points were awarded for pole position or fastest lap. Only the best sixteen results were counted towards the championship. Italian F4 Championship
Italian Formula 4 Championship is the first formula racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations. The inaugural season was the 2014 Italian F4 Championship, effectively replacing the Formula Abarth. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of the Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. Besides sporting and technical regulations, costs are regulated too. A car to compete in this category may not exceed €30,000 in purchase. A single season in Formula 4 may not exceed €100,000 in costs. The Italian Formula 4 was the first FIA Formula 4 championship to be launched. The Italian championship was launched by the ACI-CSAI on December 12, 2013. WSK Promotions, well known for its kart races in the WSK Euro Series e.a., was contracted to promote the championship. Amaury Cordeel (; born 9 July 2002) is a Belgian racing driver set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Virtuosi Racing. He has previously raced in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, Formula Renault Eurocup, Toyota Racing Series and F3 Asian Championship, as well as French, ADAC, Italian, UAE, Spanish and SMP F4. Toby Sowery (born 30 June 1996 in Melbourn) is a British racing driver. Career Karting Born in Melbourn, Sowery began karting in 2004 at the age of eight and claimed titles in Easykart, Junior TKM and Junior Rotax GP. Lower Formulae In 2014, Sowery graduated to single-seaters, beginning with the MSV F3 Cup, where he took the title with ten race wins and fourteen podiums. KDC Racing was a Swiss auto racing team. KDC Racing was established in February 2018 by Monisha Kaltenborn after leaving the Sauber Formula One team, however the team rapidly went bankrupt. History KDC Racing was a partnership between Monisha Kalternborn and her business partner Emily di Comberti (who was previously known as Jean-Patrick Guy Phillipe Mourenon before gender re-assignment) with the name KDC being derived from the initials of their surnames. Alessandro Famularo (born 11 February 2003) is a Venezuelan racing driver who currently competes in FIA Formula 3 for Charouz Racing System. Bhaitech Racing (sometimes stylised as BhaiTech Racing) was an Italian automotive research and development service provider and motorsport team. History Racing Bhaitech made its racing debut in 2012, contesting the Italian GT Championship using a McLaren 12C GT3. R-ace GP is an auto racing team from France, involved in many areas of motorsport, specifically those involving Renault. They are currently competing in the Formula Regional European Championship, Italian F4 and ADAC F4. History R-ace GP was founded in 2011 by Thibaut de Merindol and Cyril Comte.
