2018 Ireland Rugby Union Tour Of Australia
In June 2018, Ireland played a three-test series against Australia as part of the 2018 June rugby union tests. It was the first time Ireland had played a test series against Australia in Australia since 2010. The series was part of the sixth year of the global rugby calendar established by World Rugby, which runs through to 2019. Fixtures Squads Note: Ages, caps and clubs are as per 9 June, the first test match of the tour. Ireland On 23 May 2018, Joe Schmidt named a 32-man squad for the 2018 June rugby union tests. On 31 May, tour captain Rory Best was ruled out of the test series with a hamstring injury. Munster's Niall Scannell was called-up to replace him, with Peter O'Mahony and Johnny Sexton sharing the captaincy duties for the tour. Joe Schmidt (rugby Union)
Josef Schmidt HonFRCSI (born 12 September 1965) is a New Zealand and Irish rugby union coach, who is the attack coach for the New Zealand national team. Schmidt coached Bay of Plenty, and was an assistant coach with the Blues and Clermont Auvergne. He joined Leinster as head coach in 2010, and brought unprecedented success to the province, reaching six finals and winning four trophies in three years. He was then head coach of Ireland from 2013 to 2019. In six years under his leadership, Ireland won three Six Nations Championships, including a Grand Slam in 2018. 2010 Ireland Rugby Union Tour Of New Zealand And Australia
Ireland toured New Zealand and Australia in June 2010, playing a Test match against the All Blacks and the Wallabies. They also played the New Zealand Māori in Rotorua. Touring squad Ireland named a 34-man squad for their tour to New Zealand and Australia in June 2010. Rory Best and Paul O'Connell were both ruled out due to injury and replaced by John Fogarty and Ed O'Donoghue. Kevin McLaughlin was also ruled out and was replaced by Niall Ronan. Keith Earls had to pull out of the squad and was replaced by Gavin Duffy. Fergus McFadden was ruled out of the tour and was replaced by Johne Murphy. Will Addison
William Joseph Addison (born 20 August 1992) is an English-born Irish rugby union player who plays as a utility back for Ulster in the United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup, and internationally for Ireland. A product of the Sale Sharks academy, Addison made his club debut for Sale in 2010. He was part of the England U20 side which won the Junior Six Nations. He also featured at the 2012 Junior World Cup. He split time between his rugby career and studying for a degree in business studies, graduating in 2014. He was named the Sharks' captain ahead of the 2017-18 season, having previously captained the side in the absence of Josh Beaumont. Addison is Irish-qualified through his Fermanagh-born mother, and grew up supporting Ireland. Cian Healy
Cian Healy (born 7 October 1987) is an Irish rugby union rugby player. He plays for Leinster, and has also won over 100 caps for the Ireland national team. He was named as part of the Lions squad for the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia, but withdrew due to injury playing only twice. He was educated in Belvedere College, Dublin and won a Leinster Schools Senior Cup medal in 2005. He is registered to Clontarf who play in All-Ireland League. Leinster Healy made his Leinster debut at 19 years old in the 2006–07 season against Border Reivers, when he came of the bench. He transitioned to first choice at his position for Leinster in the 2008–09 season. David Kilcoyne (born 14 December 1988) is an Irish rugby union player for Munster in the United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup. He plays as a prop and represents UL Bohemians in the All-Ireland League. The Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, known as AAMI Park for sponsorship reasons, is an outdoor sports stadium on the site of Edwin Flack Field in the Sports and Entertainment Precinct in the Melbourne central business district.
