2018 In World Lethwei Championship
The year 2018 is the 2nd year in the history of the World Lethwei Championship, a Lethwei promotion based in Myanmar. List of events WLC 4: Bareknuckle-King ''WLC 4: Bareknuckle-King'' was a Lethwei event held on February 17, 2018 Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium in Myanmar's capital, Naypitaw. Background This event marked the first title defence of middleweight Lethwei world champion Too Too. For the occasion, he faced Ukraine's Vasyl Sorokin, who was one of the fastest rising stars in the world of kickboxing. Sorokin had already been in more than 20 major fights and had recently scored a victory over Thai superstar Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee to earn him the title shot. After 5 rounds, Too Too won by unanimous decision over Sorokin and retained his title. 2017 In World Lethwei Championship
The year 2017 is the 1st year in the history of the World Lethwei Championship, a Lethwei promotion based in Myanmar. List of events WLC 1: The Great Beginning ''WLC 1: The Great Beginning'' was the inaugural Lethwei event organized by World Lethwei Championship and took place on March 3, 2017 at the Mingalardon Event Zone in Yangon, Myanmar. Background The first WLC event was highly anticipated by the Lethwei fans around the world and took place on re-purposed driving range of the Mingalardon Country Club which was specially built for the event. The weigh-ins for the event were held in Kandawgyi Park in Yangon. After losing his title to Dave Leduc in December 2016, Lethwei superstar Tun Tun Min returned to face British kickboxer Nicholas Carter in the main event. Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee
Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee ( Thai: สุดสาคร ส.กลิ่นมี; born August 25, 1986) is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer and the reigning Lion Fight Middleweight Champion. He is a former Thai Fight Junior Middleweight Kard Chuek Champion and World Kickboxing Network Muay Thai Welterweight World Champion. Biography Sudsakorn is one of Thailand's most famous 'nak muay' (fighter). His real name is Som Klinmee but his nickname is « O » among Thai people. He began practicing Muay Thai at the age of 6. He began training under his stepfather Yaak and his older cousin Rambaa Somdet M16. Between the ages of 10 and 18, he was taken in by his uncle Tappaya of the Sit-Or Gym in Pattaya. Soe Lin Oo ( my, စိုးလင်းဦး) (born December 4, 1991) is a Burmese Lethwei fighter currently competing in the Welterweight division of the World Lethwei Championship. He is the former Lethwei Golden Belt 60 kg Champion. Early life Soe Lin Oo is born in the Inn Shey village of the Thaton District, Mon State and is a member of the Karen ethnic group. Lethwei career Soe Lin Oo has often been called by the nicknames ''Man of Steel'' and ''Ironman'' due to his incredible pain threshold, which is a crucial aspect among today's Lethwei fighters. Pradal Serey ( km, ប្រដាល់សេរី) or Kun Khmer ( km, គុនខ្មែរ) is a combat sport originated in Cambodia. The official Khmer name of the sport is Kbach Kun Pradal Khmer. In Khmer, ''pradal'' means fighting or boxing and ''serey'' means free. Thus, ''pradal serey'' may be translated as "free fighting" or "free boxing". The sport consists of stand up striking and clinch fighting where the objective is to knock an opponent out, force a technical knockout, or win a match by points. Pradal Serey is most well known for its kicking technique, which generates power from hip rotation rather than snapping the leg. Pradal Serey consists of four types of strikes: punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes. The clinch is used to wear down the opponent. In the clinch, opponents battle for dominant position for short range strikes by way of elbows and knees.
