2018 Il Lombardia
The 2018 Il Lombardia is a road cycling one-day race that took place on 13 October 2018 in Italy. It was the 112th edition of the Il Lombardia and the 36th event of the 2018 UCI World Tour. It was won solo by Thibaut Pinot, ahead of Vincenzo Nibali and Dylan Teuns. Pinot rode with a high tempo starting from the Civiglio climb 15 kilometers from the finish line and the other three riders in the lead group at that time (Egan Bernal, Vincenzo Nibali and Primož Roglič) lost ground to him. 2018 UCI World Tour
The 2018 UCI World Tour was a competition that included thirty-seven road cycling events throughout the 2018 men's cycling season. It was the tenth and final edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition began with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 16 January and concluded with the final stage of the Tour of Guangxi on 21 October. Belgium's Greg Van Avermaet was the defending champion. Summary Van Avermaet was unable to defend his World Tour title, as he failed to take a single individual win – he was a part of three team time trial victories for the however – as he finished fifth in the points rankings. Rigoberto Urán
Rigoberto Urán Urán, ODB (born 26 January 1987) is a Colombian professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won a silver medal in the road race. He became the first Colombian ever to make the podium of the Giro d'Italia, when he finished second behind Vincenzo Nibali in the 2013 edition of the race, having taken leadership of following the abandonment of team captain Bradley Wiggins. He also won a mountain-top stage in that race with a solo breakaway. The previous year, he had won the white jersey for best young rider, and a seventh-place finish overall. George Bennett (cyclist)
George Bennett (born 7 April 1990) is a New Zealand professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He represented New Zealand at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. He was the winner of the 2017 Tour of California, the 2020 Gran Piemonte and the 2021 New Zealand road cycling championships. He came second in the 2020 Il Lombardia. Career Bennett was born in Nelson in 1990, where he was educated at Waimea College. He originally took up cycle racing as a mountain biker, moving to Switzerland in 2009 to pursue his amateur career. Bennett turned professional in 2012. In 2013, George Bennett nearly won the New Zealand road cycling championships. The 183.7 kilometre race in Christchurch had 10 climbs up the steep Dyers Pass road and Bennett was leading by 45 seconds over Hayden Roulston with the final flat 12 kilometres to go. Daniel John Martin (born 20 August 1986) is an Irish former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2008 and 2021 for the , , and teams. Born and raised in England, Martin represented Ireland in competition through his Irish mother. Rafał Majka (Polish pronunciation: ; born 12 September 1989) is a Polish professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is known as a strong climber, and rose to prominence at the 2013 Giro d'Italia, where he finished 7th overall, and 6th one year later. Once considered one of the most promising talents in French cycling, he finished third overall in the 2014 Tour de France and first in the young rider classification. Egan Arley Bernal Gómez (born 13 January 1997) is a Colombian cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . In 2019 he won the Tour de France, becoming the first Latin American rider to do so, and the youngest winner since 1909. At the 2021 Giro d'Italia, Bernal took his second Grand Tour win.
