IPSC Action Air World Shoot
The IPSC Action Air World Shoot is the highest level Action Air match within the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). The Action Air World Shoots are currently held triennially on the same cycle as the IPSC Shotgun World Shoots. The first Action Air World Shoot was be held in 2018 at the KITEC Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong. The second Action Air World Shoot was originally to be held in Sochi, Russia. However, in reaction to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the IPSC cancelled it along with all scheduled and future level 3 and above international competitions in Russia. The IPSC Rifle World Shoot is the highest level rifle match within the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) which consists of several days and at least 30 separate courses of fire. The Rifle World Shoots are held triennially on a rotational cycle with the other two main IPSC disciplines Handgun and Shotgun. History The first Rifle World Shoot was originally scheduled to be held in 2006 in Denmark, but was postponed and later cancelled due to difficulty in arranging enough long range stages. South Africa later expressed interest in hosting the event, but did not put forward a bid. In 2009 Norway hosted the first European Rifle Championship with most of the top competitors from America, Europe and the rest of the world present. IPSC Handgun World Shoots
The IPSC Handgun World Shoot is the highest level handgun match within the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) which consists of several days and at least 30 separate courses of fire. The Handgun World Shoots are held triennially on a rotational cycle with the other two main IPSC disciplines Rifle and Shotgun. A choke is a tapered constriction of a firearm barrell at its muzzle end. Chokes are most commonly seen on shotguns, but are also used on some rifles, pistols, or even airguns. Notably, some .22 LR match rifles have a constricted bore diameter near the muzzle. Chokes are almost always used with modern hunting and target shotguns to improve performance. Its purpose is to shape the spread of the shot "cloud" or "string" to gain better range and accuracy, and to deliver the optimum pattern of pellet density, for the particular target, depending on its size, range, aspect and whether it is traveling towards, across or away from the shooter. Scott Clayton Greene (born June 1, 1972) is a former professional American football player who played running back for four seasons for the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts. Greene attended Canandaigua Academy and holds many football records there. He was the Section V player of the year while at Canadaigua Academy in 1991. Roberto Vezzoli is an Italian sport shooter who won the 2015 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot Standard division title. Sami Hautamäki is a Finnish sport shooter who took silver in the Standard division behind Håvard Østgaard at the 2017 IPSC Rifle World Shoot, and silver in the Modified division behind Teemu Rintala at the 2018 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot. Lena Miculek is an American practical sport shooter who took gold medal at the 2017 IPSC Rifle World Shoot in the Open division, Lady category, and three gold medals in the IPSC Shotgun Standard division, Lady category, from the 2012, 2015 and 2018 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot.
