2018 IAAF World Indoor Tour
The 2018 IAAF World Indoor Tour was the third edition of the IAAF World Indoor Tour, the highest series of international track and field indoor meetings. It was designed to create an IAAF Diamond League-style circuit for indoor track and field events, to raise the profile of indoor track and field athletics. The Tour had six events for 2018, five in Europe and one in the United States, leading to the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Winners of the Tour enjoyed similar privileges in relation to World Indoor Championships qualification as Diamond League winners do in relation to World Championships in Athletics. This was the first edition of the tour that featured the Madrid Indoor Meeting. The five 2017 meetings returned, although the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix once more, as in 2016, moved to Glasgow as part of a long term deal, accommodating the hosting of the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham. 2017 IAAF World Indoor Tour
The 2017 IAAF World Indoor Tour was the second edition of the IAAF World Indoor Tour, the highest level of annual series of track and field indoor meetings. It was designed to create an IAAF Diamond League-style circuit for indoor track and field events, to raise the profile of indoor track and field athletics. Announced with initially four events for 2016, three in Europe and one in the United States, leading to the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland, Oregon, the second edition contained 5 meetings, and took place in a year with no World Indoor championships; therefore qualification places were not applicable. The Globen Galan was removed from this year's series, and the Stockholm leg was replaced by the International Copernicus Cup, a long-standing indoor event in Torún, Poland for 2017. PSD Bank Meeting
The PSD Bank Meeting was an annual indoor track and field competition which took place in February at the Arena-Sportpark in Düsseldorf, Germany. The inaugural edition ''1. Internationales Indoor Meeting Düsseldorf'' was held in 2006 and attracted a sell-out crowd of 1500 people. The competition was created following investment by the Düsseldorf municipal council, bringing a new usage to the venue which had served as a training facility for the 1977 IAAF World Cup. The second edition of the competition attracted a number of high calibre athletes from Europe, Africa, Asia and North America, with David Gillick's Irish national record in the 400 metres being a highlight. The meeting was one of a handful of competitions which holds permit status from the European Athletics Association. Hagos Gebrhiwet Berhe ( ti, ሓጎስ ገብረሂወት, born 11 May 1994) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner and the former World Junior Record holder in the 5000 meters (12:47:53). The Commonwealth Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, known for sponsorship reasons as the Emirates Arena, is an indoor arena and velodrome in Dalmarnock, Glasgow, Scotland. Copernicus Cup is an annual indoor track and field competition which takes place in February at the multi-purpose sports and entertainment Arena Toruń in Toruń, Poland.
