2018 Hong Kong Sevens
The 2018 Hong Kong Sevens was the 43rd edition of the Hong Kong Sevens tournament, and the seventh tournament of the 2017–18 World Rugby Sevens Series. The performance from this tournament determined the first fourteen seedings of the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament alongside the past year's series and the previous six event of the 2017–18 season. Fiji won the tournament, defeating Kenya 24–12 in the final. Fiji were dominant throughout the tournament, including a 50–7 thrashing of New Zealand during pool play. In the World Series Qualifier tournament, Ireland were the dominant team during pool play, but Japan beat Ireland 12–7 in the semifinal, and went on to beat Germany 19–14 in the final to qualify for the 2018-19 World Series as a core team. The 2017–18 World Rugby Sevens Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, was the 19th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. Semi Kunatani
Semi Kunabuli Kunatani (born 27 October 1990) is a Fiji rugby union player. He plays for the Fiji sevens team and also Top 14 side Castres . He previously played for Top 14 side, Stade Toulousain and Premiership Rugby side Harlequins. Kunatani debuted for Fiji in 2013 Dubai Sevens tournament. Career Kunatani started his career playing rugby in the local 7's competition. He played for the Yamacia 7's side and was selected by Ben Ryan to represent the Fiji National Sevens side in Dubai 2013, following the 2013 win at the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens where he was a stand out player. The 2017 Oceania Sevens Championship was the tenth Oceania Sevens in men's rugby sevens. It was held at ANZ Stadium in Suva, Fiji on 10–11 November 2017.
