The 2018 presidential campaign of Guilherme Boulos was announced on 3 March 2018 in São Paulo (city), São Paulo. Guilherme Boulos, a nationally-recognized leader of the Homeless Workers' Movement (MTST), ran as a member of the left-wing Socialism and Liberty Party. For the position of Vice President, Boulos chose Sônia Guajajara, an indigenous activist and former competitor for the PSOL presidential nomination, as his running mate. On 20 July, a day before PSOL national convention, the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) confirmed their support to PSOL in the presidential election. Guilherme Castro Boulos (born 19 June 1982) is a Brazilian politician, Activism, activist and writer. He is a member of the National Coordination of Homeless Workers' Movement (MTST). Boulos joined the Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL) in 2018, and was PSOL's candidate for the presidency of Brazil in 2018 Brazilian general election, the 2018 general election. The Homeless Workers Movement ( pt, Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Teto. MTST) is a social movement in Brazil. It originated from the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra ( en, Landless Rural Workers' Movement). Although the MTST can trace its first urban activism efforts to the occupation of Campinas in São Paulo during the 1997 National People’s March, this intervention was organized within the Landless Rural Worker’s Rural Movement (MST) structure. Sônia Bone de Souza Silva Santos (born 6 March 1974), usually known as Sônia Guajajara, is a Brazilian indigenous activist, environmentalist, and politician.
