2018 German Darts Masters
The 2018 German Darts Masters was the second staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, and was the first entry in the 2018 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight PDC players facing eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on 25 May 2018. Peter Wright was the defending champion after defeating Phil Taylor 11–4 in the final of the 2017 event, but he lost 8–2 in the semi-finals to Mensur Suljović. Suljović won his first World Series title by defeating Dimitri Van den Bergh 8–2 in the final. The event also broke the attendance record for a darts tournament with 20,210 people attending the event, beating the previous record set 70 years earlier. Arena AufSchalke (), currently known as Veltins-Arena () for sponsorship reasons, is an indoor association football, football stadium in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Raymond Van Barneveld
Raymond van Barneveld (born 20 April 1967) is a Dutch professional darts player. Nicknamed Barney, although originally known as The Man, he is one of the most successful darts players in history. World Series Of Darts
The World Series of Darts is a series of darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Beginning in 2013, the World Series has comprised between two and seven tournaments across the world, where a mixture of the top-ranked PDC players take on local qualifiers in a knockout format. Since 2015, there has been a finals tournament held annually in November at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, although in 2018, it moved to the Multiversum Schwechat in Vienna, Austria, and moved again to the AFAS Live in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2019, then to the Salzburgarena, Salzburg in 2020. Dragutin Horvat (born 8 January 1976) is a German professional darts player of Croatian origin. He currently plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Robert Marijanović
Robert Marijanovic (born 6 May 1980) is a German darts player of Croatian heritage. Career Marijanović qualified for the 2013 PDC World Darts Championship after coming through the Eastern European qualifier. He was beaten 3–4 by Northern Ireland's Daryl Gurney in the preliminary round. In February 2013 he played in his first World Cup of Darts, representing Croatia alongside Tonči Restović and they advanced from Group G courtesy of a 5–3 victory over New Zealand.
