The 2018 Georgia Southern Eagles football team represented Georgia Southern University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Chad Lunsford
Chad Kevin Lunsford (born February 24, 1977) is an American football coach who is currently the tight ends coach at Florida Atlantic Owls football, Florida Atlantic. He previously served as the head coach of the Georgia Southern Eagles football team. He was awarded the job on November 27, 2017 after serving as interim for the second half of the season following the firing and departure of Tyson Summers. Following a 1–3 start, Lunsford was fired by Georgia Southern early in the 2021 season. Early life and education Lunsford attended and played football at Elbert County High School in Elberton, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, Milledgeville in May 2000 with a degree in biology and a minor in mathematics. The Appalachian State–Georgia Southern football rivalry, also known as Deeper Than Hate, is a college rivalry between the Mountaineers of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and the Eagles of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Despite being located in separate states, the two universities have similar academic profiles, both having developed from teachers' colleges, and having enrollments of approximately 20,000. The 2018 Appalachian State Mountaineers football team represented Appalachian State University during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Mountaineers were led by sixth-year head coach Scott Satterfield and played their home games at Kidd Brewer Stadium. They competed as a member of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. Bobcat Stadium is a football stadium on the campus of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. It opened in 1981 and was expanded in 2011–2012 to its present 30,000-seat capacity. Bobcat Stadium has been the home field for the Texas State Bobcats since 1981.
