The Gambian Cup is the top knockout tournament of the Gambian football. The current champion is Real Banjul who won their four title in 2019. The winner competes in the Gambian Super Cup and also qualifies into the CAF Confederation Cup each season, if the national league champion also wins the FA cup then the second placed cup club competes. Brikama United Football Club is a Gambian football club located in Brikama, Gambia. It is a community football club which is owned and run by BYSA (Brikama Youth and Sports Association). It currently plays in GFA League First Division. It is the first club outside Banjul, the capital city, to win the GFA First Division title since the league's inception in 1969. Real de Banjul Football Club is a Gambian professional association football club based in Banjul. The team compete in the GFA League First Division, the top flight of Gambian football league system. Real de Banjul is the most successful club in Gambian football history, having won a record 12 national titles History Real de Banjul was founded in the 1966–67 season after a group of secondary schoolboys international team returned from a trip to Thiès in Senegal and named it as Benson and Hedges FC. Serekunda (proper: Sayerr Kunda or Sere Kunda, ar, سيريكوندا, sometimes spelled Serrekunda) is the largest urban centre in The Gambia. It is situated close to the Atlantic coast, south-west of the capital, Banjul, and is formed of nine villages which have grown together into a larger urban area. History and toponymy Sayerr Jobe, the founder of Serekunda, was a 19th-century lamane originally from the Sine-Saloum region of Senegal. He migrated to the Gambia in the mid 19th Century and is believed to have initially settled around Jinack Island in Banjul, before relocating to the southern bank of the country (near Sukuta) where he established Serrekunda. Wallidan FC
Wallidan Football Club is a Gambian football club based in Banjul and Bakau. They play in the top division in Gambian football, the GFA League First Division, and are the most decorated team in the country's football history. They play at the Independence Stadium (Bakau) which has a capacity of 40,000. The club is one of the most successful in the Gambia with 16 championship titles won and 24 FF cup titles won (the most successful in the Gambia), 39 honours in all. Bakau
Bakau is a town on the Atlantic coast of Gambia, west of Gambia's capital city of Banjul. It is known for its botanical gardens, its crocodile pool ''Bakau Kachikally'' and for the beaches at Cape Point. Bakau is the first major suburb outside Banjul and the most developed town in the Gambia. Close to Bakau and Banjul is Gambia's largest city, Serekunda. History Legend has it that Bakau grew up around the holy crocodile pool in Kachikally, the central district of Bakau.
