2018 Gamba Osaka Season
The 2018 Gamba Osaka season was Gamba Osaka's 25th season in the J1 League and 31st overall in the Japanese top flight. It saw them compete in the 18 team J1 League as well as the J.League Cup and Emperor's Cup competitions. Gamba will begin the season with a new manager in the shape of Brazilian, former Cerezo Osaka boss Levir Culpi who replaced long-standing manager Kenta Hasegawa who moved to FC Tokyo. Culpi was fired after poor form saw Gamba sit in the J1 relegation zone at the halfway point of the season. He was replaced by Gamba Under-23 manager Tsuneyasu Miyamoto on July 23. Transfers Prior to the end of 2017, Gamba announced the capture of young defenders; Tetsuya Yamaguchi and Riku Matsuda as well as midfielder Yuya Fukuda all straight out of high school. Shinya Yajima
is a Japanese football player who plays for Shimizu S-Pulse in the J2 League. He has previously played for both Urawa Red Diamonds and Fagiano Okayama. His regular playing position is midfielder. Montedio Yamagata
is Japanese professional association football club based in Tendo, Yamagata. The club plays in J2 League. Shunya Suganuma
is a Japanese footballer for FC Machida Zelvia in the J2 League. His regular playing position is centre-back. He has previously had spells with Roasso Kumamoto, Júbilo Iwata, Kyoto Sanga, Montedio Yamagata and Gamba Osaka. Gamba Osaka Under−23 was a Japanese football team based in Suita, Osaka. It was the reserve team of Gamba Osaka and played in J3 League which they have done since their entry to the league at the beginning of the 2016 season. They played the majority of their home games at Panasonic Stadium Suita with some played at Expo '70 Commemorative Stadium. is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as Central Midfielder. He currently play for Tiamo Hirakata. Club career Born in Osaka Prefecture, Shibamoto joined local side Gamba Osaka as a youth.
