2018 Frisco Bowl
The 2018 Frisco Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 19, 2018, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST (7:00 p.m. local CST). It was the second edition of the Frisco Bowl, and one of the 2018–19 bowl games concluding the 2018 FBS football season. Sponsored by Destination XL Group, a retailer of men's big and tall apparel, the game was officially known as the DXL Frisco Bowl. In the game, the Ohio Bobcats shut out the San Diego State Aztecs, 27–0. Teams Although the bowl has a tie-in with the American Athletic Conference, due to UCF receiving a bid to the Fiesta Bowl—a New Year's Six bowl—the conference was unable to provide a team. Ohio Bobcats Football
The Ohio Bobcats football team is a major intercollegiate varsity sports program of Ohio University. The team represents the university as the senior member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), playing at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level. The Bobcats have played their home games in Peden Stadium in Athens, Ohio since 1929. Ohio University is also the first team to produce a shut out during an MAC Bowl game. The 2019 Fiesta Bowl was a college football bowl game that was played on January 1, 2019. It was the 48th edition of the Fiesta Bowl, and was one of the 2018–19 bowl games concluding the 2018 FBS football season. Sponsored by Sony Interactive Entertainment via its PlayStation brand, the game was officially known as the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. The LSU Tigers defeated the UCF Knights by the score of 40–32, snapping UCF's 25-game winning streak, the longest in the nation at the time. The Tigers dominated time of possession (44:31) and racked up 555 yards of offense. The Knights offense was held to a season-low 250 total yards, but scored a Fiesta Bowl record 93-yard interception return for a touchdown.
