2018 Evian Championship
The 2018 Evian Championship was played 13–16 September at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 25th Evian Championship (the first 20 played as the Evian Masters), and the sixth as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. The event was televised by Golf Channel and NBC Sports in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. At the age of 40, Angela Stanford won her first major championship on her 76th appearance in a major. Four players tied for second place, a stroke behind, including Amy Olson who came to the last hole needing a par to win but made a double-bogey. Field The field for the tournament is set at 120, and most earn exemptions based on past performance on the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA Tour, or with a high ranking in the Women's World Golf Rankings. The Women's World Golf Rankings, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Rolex Rankings, were introduced in February 2006. Marina Alex (born August 2, 1990) is an American professional golfer. Early life and education Raised in Wayne, New Jersey, Alex played interscholastic golf at Wayne Hills High School, where she won individual state titles in 2007 and 2008. Alex played college golf at Vanderbilt University. She won one tournament, the 2010 SEC Championship. She qualified for the 2009 U.S. Women's Open as an amateur but missed the cut. Dottie Ardina (born 2 December 1993) is a Filipino professional golfer. Ardina won numerous amateur tournament in Asia and represented the Philippines at the Espirito Santo Trophy (World Amateur Team Championships) in 2006 and 2010. Symetra Tour
The Epson Tour, previously known as the LPGA Futures Tour, and known for sponsorship reasons between 2006 and 2010 as the Duramed Futures Tour and between 2012 and 2021 as the Symetra Tour, is the official developmental golf tour of the LPGA Tour. Albane Valenzuela (born 17 December 1997) is a Swiss professional golfer and a two-time Olympian. She was born in New York City to a Mexican father and French mother.
