The 2018 Epping Forest District Council election took place on 3 May 2018 to elect members of Epping Forest District Council in England. This was on the same day as other local elections. This is the last election in which the UK Independence Party had elected representation on the council after the defection of David Dorrell to the Conservatives, and the defeat of Rod Butler. Gary Waller
Gary Peter Anthony Waller (24 June 1945 – 21 July 2017) was a British Conservative politician. Schooling Waller was educated at Rugby School, where he excelled at cross country running, and graduated from Lancaster University in 1967. Political career Election Waller was the Conservative candidate for the Labour safe seat of Rother Valley in the February and October 1974 elections, but Peter Hardy retained the seat on both occasions. Waller was originally elected as the MP for Brighouse and Spenborough, taking the seat from Labour, at the 1979 general election, until 1983, when boundary changes meant the constituency was abolished. Instead, he was elected for nearby Keighley, defeating the Labour incumbent Bob Cryer. Chris Pond (politician)
Christopher Charles "Chris" Pond is a historian, librarian, and politician, was born in 1949 in Walthamstow, Essex (now part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest), and grew up in Chingford, moving to Loughton, Essex in 1981. Early life He attended Sir George Monoux Grammar School and Queens' College, Cambridge. His PhD (faculty of geography and geology) was obtained in 1981 under Sir Clifford Darby. Latterly an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, he was Head of Reference Services at the House of Commons Library, secretary and then chairman of the FDA House of Commons branch, and then for 15 years President of the Trade Union Side, House of Commons. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2002. Gagan Mohindra (born 7 April 1978) is a British Conservative Party politician. He has been the member of Parliament (MP) for South West Hertfordshire since the 2019 general election. Early life Mohindra was born into a Punjabi Hindu family in 1978. Mohindra's parents were both from Punjab, India, and immigrated to the United Kingdom before Mohindra was born. 2015 United Kingdom General Election
The 2015 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 to elect 650 members to the House of Commons. It was the first and only general election held at the end of a Parliament under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011. Local elections took place in most areas on the same day. Polls and commentators had predicted the outcome would be too close to call and would result in a second consecutive hung parliament whose composition would be either similar to or more complicated than the 2010 general election. Keighley (UK Parliament Constituency)
Keighley is a constituency in West Yorkshire created in 1885 represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Robbie Moore of the Conservative Party. Since 1959, the seat has been a bellwether (its winner affiliated to the winning party nationally), with two exceptions: in 1979 and 2017, the seat leant to the left, bucking the national result. Council elections in England were held on Thursday 3 May 2018. Elections were held in all 32 London boroughs, 34 metropolitan boroughs, 67 district and borough councils and 17 unitary authorities.
