2018 Chinese FA Super Cup
Weshare Wealth 2018 Chinese FA Super Cup (Chinese: 掌众财富2018中国足球协会超级杯) was the 16th Chinese FA Super Cup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Chinese Super League and FA Cup competitions. It was held at Hongkou Football Stadium on 26 February 2018. The match was played between Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, champions of the 2017 Chinese Super League, and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, the winner of the 2017 Chinese FA Cup. Policy of foreign players and U-23 domestic players was executed for the first time in the tournament. At most three foreign players can play in the match while at least one domestic player who is under the age of 23 (born on or after 1 January 1995) must be in the starting eleven; The total number of foreign players must be no more than the total number of U-23 domestic players in the match. The Chinese FA Super Cup (), formerly named Chinese Football Super Cup (), is a pre-season association football, football competition held before the season begins in China PR, China. It is a Chinese football championship contested by the winners of top division of Professional League (former Chinese Jia-A League, now Chinese Super League) and the Chinese FA Cup, FA Cup last season. If both teams are the same, the opponent is the runners-up of league last season. It is the Chinese equivalent to the English FA Community Shield, in which the winners of the Premier League and FA Cup compete for the trophy. Fredy Alejandro Guarín Vásquez (born 30 June 1986) is a Colombian former professional footballer. A versatile player, he was comfortable as a central, defensive or right midfielder. Zheng Zhi (; born 20 August 1980) is a Chinese professional footballer and manager who played most of his career for Chinese Super League club Guangzhou F.C., becoming their captain and serving also as their caretaker manager in two stints. After starting his career as a defender, Zheng was later moved into a central midfield role by then head coach Zhu Guanghu at Shenzhen Jianlibao and experienced immediate success there by winning the 2004 league title with the club. Xu Xin (; ; born 19 April 1994) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Port. Club career Xu Xin started his football career when he joined Tianjin Teda's youth academy in 2006. After switching to Shanghai Shenhua's youth academy, he then transferred to La Liga side Atlético Madrid's youth academy in 2010. Zhang Chenglin (; Pinyin: ''Zhāng Chénglín''; ; born 20 January 1987 in Bengbu) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Guangzhou F.C. Liu Shibo (; born 20 May 1997) is a Chinese footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Shandong Taishan. Club career Liu Shibo was promoted to the Guangzhou Evergrande senior team in the 2017 league season and then loaned out to second tier club Nei Mongol Zhongyou where he made his debut in a league game on 22 July 2017 against Yunnan Lijiang in a 1-1 draw. Yu Hanchao (; born 25 February 1987) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua as a right-footed left winger. Club career Yu Hanchao started his football career with Liaoning Whowin in 2005 after making his debut on 22 May 2005 in a 0-0 draw against Inter Shanghai.
