The 2018 Carlton Football Club season was the Carlton Football Club's 155th season of competition. It was the club's men's team's 122nd season as a member of the Australian Football League. The team finished last out of eighteen teams in the 2018 AFL season, with the club's worst ever win–loss record of 2–20. It was the club's women's team's second season as a member of the AFL Women's competition. The team also finished last, out of eight teams, in the 2018 AFL Women's season with a 2–5 record. The Carlton Football Club, nicknamed the Blues, is a professional Australian rules football club that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's top professional competition. Neil Craig
Neil Passmore Craig (born 11 January 1956) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Norwood Football Club, Sturt Football Club and the North Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He later worked as a fitness adviser, and then became coach of the Adelaide Football Club, a caretaker coach of the Melbourne Football Club, the former General of Performance at the Essendon Football Club, as well as the Director of Coaching at the Carlton Football Club. Since 2017 he has been high performance manager for the England rugby union team, working with head coach Eddie Jones. Bryce Gibbs (Australian Rules Footballer)
Bryce Gibbs (born 15 March 1989) is a retired professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Pre-AFL Gibbs was an exceptional youth talent, which led to much speculation about his ultimate AFL drafting. In 2004 he won Glenelg's Under 17s best and fairest award, despite spending part of the season playing SANFL reserve grade. That year he also captained the South Australian under 16s team at the national championships. Dennis Armfield
Dennis Brett Armfield (born 22 December 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). After moving from Canberra to Perth as a child, Armfield spent all his junior years playing rugby union, where, among his duties, he was his team's designated place-kicker. After converting to Australian Rules Football at the age of 17, where he played for the local Kalamunda Football Club, before being recruited that year by Swan Districts Football Club in Western Australia in 2002, playing as a utility/midfielder. Alex Silvagni
Alex Silvagni (born 29 September 1987) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle and Carlton Football Clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early career Silvagni did not play in the TAC Cup as a junior, but instead played for his school, Haileybury College winning a premiership in his final year in 2005. He joined the Casey Scorpions in the Victorian Football League in 2006, winning selection in the VFL's under-23 team. Lachie Plowman
Lachie Plowman (born 11 September 1994) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Plowman originated in the Macedon Ranges from Sacred Heart College, Kyneton. In 2011 and 2012 he played in the TAC Cup for the Calder Cannons, playing primarily as a tall defender. He was drafted to the AFL by with the third overall selection in the 2012 national draft. He made his AFL debut in the opening round of the 2013 season. Matthew Kreuzer
Matthew Kreuzer (born 13 May 1989) is a retired professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was selected first overall pick in the 2007 AFL Draft. He announced his retirement in September 2020. Junior career Kreuzer played for St Mary's Greensborough Junior Football Club, part of the Yarra Junior Football League, in Melbourne's north as a junior, before moving to the Northern Knights to play under-18s football in the TAC Cup in 2006 and 2007. Sam Docherty (born 17 October 1993) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for and is a former co-captain for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Patrick Cripps (born 18 March 1995) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Kade Simpson (born 5 May 1984) is a former Australian rules footballer who played his entire career with the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Marc Murphy (born 19 July 1987) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited with the first overall selection in the 2005 AFL draft and served as the captain of Carlton from the 2013 season to 2018. He is the son of John Murphy.
