Futbol Club Barcelona Hoquei is a professional roller hockey team based in Barcelona, Spain. It is part of the FC Barcelona family and plays in the OK Liga. Due to the sponsoring the team is called FC Barcelona Lassa. It is the most successful roller hockey club in Spain and Europe with a record number of domestic, european and intercontinental titles. The 2017 CERH Continental Cup was the 37th season of the CERH Continental Cup, Europe's roller hockey Super Cup, organized by CERH. Roller Hockey (quad)
Roller hockey (in British English), rink hockey (in American English) or quad hockey is a team sport played on roller skates. It is the only quad skate team sport in existence where two teams face-off against one another at the same time. Two teams try to drive a hard ball with their sticks into the opposing teams' goalnet. Each team has five players on the rink at a time, four of whom are skaters and one who is the goalkeeper. The ball can only be put in motion by a stick, not the skate, otherwise a foul will be stated. The game has two 25-minute halves, with 15-minute halftime intermission, plus up to two 5-minute golden goal (a.k.a. "sudden death") periods to settle ties with the clock stopping when the ball becomes dead. If the tie persists, a penalty shootout will determine the winner. 2017–18 CERH European League
The 2017–18 CERH European League was the 53rd season of Europe's premier club roller hockey tournament organised by CERH, and the 21st season since it was renamed from European Champion Clubs' Cup to the CERH Champions League/European League. Reus Deportiu were the defending champions. Barcelona won the trophy for a record 22nd time, winning 4–2 over Porto, who lost their 9th consecutive final and 11th overall, 7 of which against Barcelona. Format changes There are not any format changes in the competition system but, as new, the CERH introduced possession clocks as in basketball. Each possession would have a maximum of 45 seconds. The 2017–18 CERS Cup is the 38th season of the CERS Cup, Europe's second club roller hockey competition organized by CERH. Format All the thirty two teams will play a double-legged knockout tournament with the only rule of avoiding that two teams from the same nation play together in the first round.
