2014 Bromley London Borough Council Election
The 2014 Bromley London Borough Council election took place on 22 May 2014. All 60 members of Bromley London Borough Council were elected. The elections took place alongside local elections in the other London boroughs, elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom, and elections to the European Parliament. In the previous election in 2010, the Conservative Party maintained its control of the council, winning 53 out of the 60 seats with the Liberal Democrats forming the primary opposition with 4 seats, a loss of three. The Labour Party lost a seat, and won the remaining 3 seats. At this election, The Liberal Democrats lost all four of their seats on to Labour in the Cray Valley East, Crystal Palace and Clock House wards. Bromley London Borough Council
Bromley London Borough Council is the local authority for the London Borough of Bromley in Greater London, England. It is one of 32 London borough councils. History There have previously been a number of local authorities responsible for the Bromley area. The current local authority was first elected in 1964, a year before formally coming into its powers and prior to the creation of the London Borough of Bromley on 1 April 1965. Bromley replaced the Municipal Borough of Bromley, the Municipal Borough of Beckenham, Penge Urban District, Orpington Urban District and the Chislehurst part of Chislehurst and Sidcup Urban District. 2022 Bromley London Borough Council Election
The 2022 Bromley London Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2022. All 58 members of Bromley London Borough Council were elected. The elections took place alongside local elections in the other London boroughs and elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom. In the previous election in 2018, the Conservative Party maintained its longstanding control of the council, winning 50 out of the 60 seats with the Labour Party forming the primary opposition with eight of the remaining seats. Independent candidates won the other two. The 2022 election took place under new election boundaries, which reduced the number of councillors to 58. Council elections in England were held on Thursday 3 May 2018. Elections were held in all 32 London boroughs, 34 metropolitan boroughs, 67 district and borough councils and 17 unitary authorities. There were also direct elections for the mayoralties of Hackney, Lewisham, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Watford. Marina Masuma Ahmad ( bn, মেরিনা মাসূমা আহমদ) is a British Labour Party politician and trade unionist who has been the London Assembly Member for Lambeth and Southwark since 2021. Cllr Nicholas Jerome Bennett JP (born 7 May 1949) is a British politician and a former Mayor of the London Borough of Bromley.
