2018 Brisbane Lions Season
The 2018 Brisbane Lions season is the ' 22nd season in the Australian Football League, AFL. It is also their 2nd season in the AFL Women's and they will field a reserves team in the North East Australian Football League, NEAFL. AFL List changes At the end of the 2017 AFL season, 2017 season, the Lions announced that they were delisting five players from their squad: Ryan Harwood, Jarrad Jansen, Josh Clayton, Jonathan Freeman (footballer), Jonathan Freeman and Blake Grewar. They had all played in the Lions' 2017 NEAFL Grand Final win. After 154 games at the club, former captain Tom Rockliff accepted an offer to go to as a restricted free agent and Brisbane decided not to match Port Adelaide's offer. Ryan Harwood
Ryan Harwood (born 7 August 1991) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Harwood played for Glenorchy Football Club in his junior years. In 2009 he played for the Tassie Mariners at the 2009 AFL National Under 18 Championships, where he recorded the most clearances of any player, showing promise as an inside midfielder. At the 2009 AFL Draft Camp, he recorded one of the best scores in the new kicking test, devised by Nathan Buckley, and he was then selected with the Brisbane Lions' second selection (pick 47 overall) in the 2009 National Draft. The Greater Western Sydney Giants (officially the Greater Western Sydney Football Club and colloquially known as the GWS Giants or simply GWS) are a professional Australian rules football team based in Sydney Olympic Park, which represents the Greater Western Sydney region of New South Wales and Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. 2015 AFL Draft
The 2015 Australian Football League draft consisted of the various periods where the 18 clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL) can trade and recruit players following the completion of the 2015 AFL season. Josh Schache
Joshua Schache ( ; born 21 August 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Brisbane Lions from 2016 to 2017, and the Western Bulldogs from 2018 to 2022. Charlie Mark Cameron (born 5 July 1994) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Luke Hodge
Luke Hodge (born 15 June 1984) is a former Australian rules football player who played with the Hawthorn Football Club and the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Thomas Rockliff (born 22 February 1990) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and previously played for the Brisbane Lions Football Club for 154 games between 2009 and 2017. In 2008 Rockliff, a medium-sized, smart and creative forward, was the leading goalkicker in the TAC Cup with 59 goals and won the Murray Bushrangers' best and fairest award, but was overlooked in the main draft. Blake Grewar
Blake is a surname which originated from Old English. Its derivation is uncertain; it could come from "blac", a nickname for someone who had dark hair or skin, or from "blaac", a nickname for someone with pale hair or skin.
