2018 Brisbane International
The 2018 Brisbane International was a tournament on the 2018 ATP World Tour and 2018 WTA Tour. It was played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was the tenth edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson, Queensland, Tennyson. It was held from 31 December 2017 to 7 January 2018 as part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year. Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray were about to start their 2018 seasons at the tournament, but both withdrew due to continuous injuries. On 5 October 2017, defending champions Grigor Dimitrov and Karolína Plíšková announced they would also compete. Tennyson, Queensland
Tennyson is a southern riverside suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Tennyson had a population of 1,019 people. Geography Tennyson is by road south-west of the Brisbane GPO. It is on the southern bank of the Brisbane River. Grigor Dimitrov
Grigor Dimitrov ( bg, Григор Димитров, ; born 16 May 1991) is a Bulgarian professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved on 20 November 2017, making him the highest-ranked Bulgarian player in history. Dimitrov achieved the ranking after winning the biggest title of his career at the season-ending ATP Finals. He has won eight ATP Tour singles titles to date. Peter Polansky
Peter Polansky ( ; born June 15, 1988) is a Canadian professional tennis player of Czech origin. He was Canada's top singles player from June 21, 2010, until January 17, 2011, in the ATP rankings. He was also Canada's No. 2 from August 4, 2008, until June 21, 2010, with the exception of one week. In 2018, he became the first player in the Open Era to qualify for all four Grand Slam tournaments as a lucky loser within the same calendar year. Michael Mmoh ( ; born January 10, 1998) is a Saudi-born American tennis player. Mmoh has a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 82 achieved on 20 February 2023. He has won 7 ATP Challenger titles and 4 ITF Futures tournaments, including his first at the age of 16. He won the USTA junior national championship in 2016.
