2018 Asian Games Medal Table
The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the XVIII Asiad, is the largest sporting event in Asia governed by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). It was held at Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia between 18 August – 2 September 2018, with 465 events in 40 sports and disciplines featured in the Games. This resulted in 465 medal sets being distributed. Two bronze medals were awarded in some sports: all events in badminton (7), boxing (10), bridge (6), fencing (12), judo (15), jujitsu (8), kabaddi (2), karate (12), kurash (7), sambo (4), sepak takraw (6), soft tennis (5), squash (4), table tennis (5), taekwondo (14), tennis (5) and wrestling (18), most events in pencak silat (10) and some events in wushu (6). Furthermore, there was a third-place tie in Athletics at the 2018 Asian Games – Men's high jump, athletics men's high jump event, giving a total of 157 additional bronze medals. The 2018 Asian Games ( id, Pesta Olahraga Asia 2018 or ''Asian Games 2018''), officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018 or Indonesia 2018, was a Asia, continental multi-sport event that was held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang. For the first time, the Summer Asian Games were co-hosted by two regions; the Indonesian capital of Jakarta (which was hosting the Games for the first time since 1962 Asian Games, 1962), and Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra province. Athletics At The 2018 Asian Games – Mixed 4 × 400 Metres Relay
The Mixed 4 × 400 metres relay competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 28 August 2018 at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. This event made its debut in 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. India claimed the gold medal in this event, Kazakhstan and China took silver and bronze medals respectively. Bahrain originally won the gold medal, however, the Athletics Federation of India lodged a protest against Bahrain for obstructing Hima Das during the Final. After passing on the baton to Salwa Eid Naser, Bahrain's Kemi Adekoya fell in the path of Hima Das, obstructing her way. However, the protest was rejected by the Asian Games' Jury of Appeals. In the event, after Adekoya tested positive for stanozolol in January 2019, the Athletics Integrity Unit ordered that her results from 24 August 2018 be deleted from the records, thus disqualifying the Bahrainian team. Anu Raghavan (born 20 April 1993) is an Indian sprinter who competes in the 400 metres and 400 metres hurdles events. In 2016, she filed a case in the Kerala High Court against Athletics Federation of India (AFI), after having been left out of the Indian 4 × 400 metres relay team for the 2016 Summer Olympics, calling it a battle against "corruption and nepotism within the Federation." Kemi Adekoya
Oluwakemi Adekoya (born 16 January 1993 in Lagos) is a Nigerian-born track and field athlete who competes for Bahrain. She specialises in the 400 metres hurdles and has a personal best of 54.59 seconds – a Bahraini record. In January 2019, it was reported that Adekoya tested positive for an illegal steroid stanozolol in an out-of-competition test in November 2018 and was provisionally suspended. All of her results achieved after 24 August 2018 were also stripped.
