2017–18 St. John's Red Storm Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 St. John's Red Storm men's basketball team represented St. John's University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were coached by alumnus and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member Chris Mullin, in his third year at the school. They played their home games at Carnesecca Arena and Madison Square Garden as members of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 16–17, 4–14 in Big East play to finish in tie for ninth place. They beat Georgetown in the first round of the Big East tournament before losing to Xavier in the quarterfinals. Chris Mullin (basketball)
Christopher Paul Mullin (born July 30, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player, executive and coach. He is a two-time Olympic Gold medalist and a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee (in 2010 as a member of the 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball team—"The Dream Team"—and in 2011 for his individual career). Mullin played shooting guard and small forward in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1985 to 2001. Malik Ellison
Malik Ellison (born August 17, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the St. John's Red Storm, the Pittsburgh Panthers, and the Hartford Hawks. Early life and high school career Raised in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, Ellison was nicknamed “Missile,” and attended Life Center Academy in Burlington. Richard Nikolaus Freudenberg (born August 31, 1998) is a former German professional basketball player. Standing 6'9" (2.06 m) tall, he played at the small forward position. The UConn Huskies men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball team of the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, Connecticut. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) is a professional men's club basketball league that has been organised in Italy since 1920. Federico Mussini (born March 12, 1996) is an Italian basketball player for Pallalcesto Amatori Udine of the Italian Serie A2 Basket, second tier national championship.
