The 2017–18 Qatari League, also known as Qatar Stars League, is the 45th edition of top-level football championship in Qatar. Qatar Stars League
The Qatar Stars League ( ar, دوري نجوم قطر), or the QSL, also called QNB Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division (QSD). Seasons of the QSL usually run from September to April. The league's first season was played in 1963, although the first official season occurred in 1972. The league currently features 12 clubs, with one club being demoted to make room for one club being promoted. Luka Bonačić
Luka Bonačić (; born 21 March 1955) is a Croatian football coach and former professional player. Early life He was born in Split, Croatia that was then part of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He began his football career at the Split Football Academy. He joined Hajduk Split in 1969 when he was 14. Playing career He signed a pro contract with Hajduk in 1971. He made 45 games for club and scored eight goals. He joined Grasshopper Club Zürich in 1979, but after one year he transferred to VfL Bochum. CD Málaga and Footscray JUST were Bonačić's next clubs. He retired after playing for Melbourne Croatia in 1986. He was called up for the Croatian national team in 1982 but never played. Al Rayyan (; also spelled as ''Ar Rayyan'') is the third-largest municipalities of Qatar, municipality in the state of Qatar. Its primary settlement is the Al Rayyan (city), city of the same name, which occupies the entire eastern section and largely surrounds Metropolitan Doha and functions as a suburb. Adel Sellimi
Adel Sellimi ( ar, عادل السليمي; born 16 November 1972) is a former football player and current manager. As a child, he drew inspiration from the 1978 World Cup team who became the first African nation to win a World Cup match. At the age of 10, he joined his first club, Club Africain of Tunis, and he stayed there for the next 14 years, picking up two Tunisian league titles and one Tunisia Cup along the way. He earned his first cap in September 1993, during a match against Germany. Tunisians grew to appreciate his discretion in life outside football as a modest and determined professional. Al Wakrah
Al Wakrah ( ar, الوكرة, al-Wakra) is the capital city of the Al Wakrah Municipality in Qatar. Al-Khor Sports Club ( ar, نادي الخور الرياضي) is a Qatari professional sports club based in Al Khor, featuring teams in a number of sports including football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis and swimming. Al Khor
Al Khor ( ar, الخور; also spelled ''Al Khawr''), officially Al Khor and Al Thakhira, is a municipality in coastal northeastern Qatar. Al Khor City, the municipal seat, is located in the northeast coast of Qatar, around from the capital, Doha and it is considered to be one of the major cities in Qatar. Al Thakhira is the second largest settlement in the municipality after Al Khor City. The region was ruled by the Al Muhannadi tribe, which consists of seven Bedouin families, before Qatar gained its independence in 1971. Bülent Uygun (born 1 August 1971) is a Turkish football manager and former player. He played as an attacking midfielder after starting his career as a striker, and was the captain of Fenerbahçe. His nickname is ''The Soldier''. Playing career He began his career with Sakaryaspor at youth level, and went on to sign professionally for Kocaelispor in 1989. After four years, he then moved to Istanbul, playing three years with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, scoring 39 goals in 107 matches.
