2017–18 IR Tanger Season
The 2017–18 season is Ittihad Riadi Tanger's 35th in existence and the club's 19th season in the top flight of Moroccan football, and Third consecutive season in the first division of Moroccan football after the promotion. Ittihad Tanger were confirmed to be champions of the 2017–18 Botola season on 12 May 2018, finishing atop the first division of Moroccan football for the first time in club history. Ittihad Riadi Tanger ( ar, الاتحاد الرياضي لطنجة, lit.'Sports Union of Tangier'), known as Ittihad Riadi Tanger, abbreviation IRT, is a Morocco, Moroccan football club based in Tangier, that competes in Botola, the top flight of Moroccan football league system, Moroccan football. The club was founded initially in 1936 as Unión Deportiva España de Tánger (UDET); After the independence of Morocco in 1956, the club changed the name to Unión Deportiva de Tánger or UDT until 1983 where the club underwent structural changes following merging of several local teams.
