The 2017–18 Hong Kong Second Division League was the 4th season of Hong Kong Second Division since it became the third-tier football league in Hong Kong in 2014–15. The season began on 3 September 2017 and ended on 13 May 2018. Hong Kong Second Division League
Hong Kong Second Division League () is the third level of football league in Hong Kong founded in 1909. The top two teams are promoted to the Hong Kong First Division. Competition format * Each team plays the other teams twice, one home and one away game. The ticket profits go to the home team. If there are two matches in the same stadium on the day, the profits are shared between the two home teams. * Since most of the teams do not have a home ground, the matches will be playing on different grounds. It happens that one team plays their home games in different stadiums in the same season. * The bottom two teams are relegated to the Hong Kong Third Division. Sparta Rotterdam (Mutual) FC
Sparta Asia Football Club () is a Hong Kong football club currently competing in the Hong Kong Second Division. During the 2008–09 season, it once competed in the top-tier Hong Kong First Division, and was relegated after finishing 12th out of 13 teams. At the end of the 2010–11 season, after gaining promotion to the First Division from the runner-up position in the Second Division, it withdrew from the First Division and was expunged from the Hong Kong league system by the HKFA. IT rejoined the league system and competed in the Fourth Division in the 2012–13 season. In 2015, the Asia football academy of the Dutch Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam took charge of the club and it rebranded as Sparta Rotterdam Mutual FC. The partnership ended after 2018. Sun Source Football Club (), currently known as Lansbury due to sponsorship reasons, is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. History The club earned the right to be promoted to the Hong Kong Premier League after winning the 2014–15 Hong Kong First Division League with two games to spare. However, the club eventually declined promotion, citing financial difficulties. The following season, Sun Source was relegated to the Second Division after finishing 13th in the First Division. From 2016 to 2018, the club was branded as HKU CXSC Sun Source. In the 2018–19 season, Sun Source was rebranded as Qiyi Hanstti. Lucky Mile () is the second team of HKFC which currently compete in the Hong Kong Second Division League. Club history Lucky Mile was formed in the late 1990s, borrowing on HKFC's membership in the Hong Kong Football Association. In the 1999–2000 season, the club won the Hong Kong Third Division championship and for the first time rose to the Hong Kong Second Division. In the 2007–2008 season, the club finished ninth and along with tenth place New Fair Kui Tan, they were relegated to Hong Kong Group C (A) Football League. Kwong Wah AA
Kwong Wah Athletic Association () are a football club that currently playing in the Hong Kong Second Division. The team's home matches are played throughout Hong Kong. History Kwong Wah were formed in 1936 by a group of coworkers at CLP Group. Among them, there were local and foreign players including future star Hau Yung Seng. The year after their formation, they won the 1937–38 Hong Kong Junior Shield as well as promotion into the Hong Kong Second Division. The club reached the Hong Kong First Division in 1947. The team currently competes in the Hong Kong First Division. Tuen Mun Football Club () is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division.
