2017–18 Forest Green Rovers F.C. Season
The 2017–18 season was Forest Green Rovers's 129th year in existence and their first in League Two following promotion via the play-offs last season. Along with competing in League Two, the club also participated in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. Centre Midfielder
A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. It is the largest part of the City of Peterborough unitary authority district (which covers a larger area than Peterborough itself). Luke Myers James (born 4 November 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for National League side York City. James came through the ranks at Hartlepool United, making his debut in December 2011. He currently holds the record of being the youngest player to ever score a league goal for Hartlepool, at the age of 17 years and 64 days. Scott Benjamin Laird (born 15 May 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left back and midfielder for Southern League Premier Division South club Weston-super-Mare. He is also the club's assistant manager. Laird began his football career as a trainee at Plymouth Argyle, progressing through the club's centre of excellence. He spent eight years at Plymouth, making one first-team appearance for the club. In 2006, he was loaned out to Tiverton Town, scoring four goals in 20 games during his time there. Charlie Terrence Cooper (born 1 May 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder, for club Yeovil Town. Cooper began his career with Birmingham City, but never played for their first team. Lee Harvey Collins (28 September 1988 – 31 March 2021) was an English professional footballer who played as a defender. He was more comfortable as a centre-back, but could also play as a full-back. He scored eight goals in 470 league and cup appearances over the course of a 14-year professional career in the English Football League and National League. He graduated through the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy to turn professional in February 2007.
