2017–18 FC Spartak Moscow Season
The 2017–18 Spartak Moscow season was the twenty-sixth successive season that the club played in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Russia. Domestically Spartak Moscow were defending Premier League Champions, failing to defend their title and eventually finishing third, winning the Russian Super Cup and reached the semi-final of the Russian Cup where they were defeated by eventual winners FC Tosno. In Europe Spartak Moscow finished third in their UEFA Champions League group behind Liverpool and Sevilla, transferring to the UEFA Europa League where they were knocked out at the Round of 32 stage by Athletic Bilbao. FC Spartak Moscow (, ) is a Russian professional association football, football club based in Moscow. Having won 12 Soviet Top League, Soviet championships (second only to FC Dynamo Kyiv, Dynamo Kyiv) and 10 Russian Premier League, Russian championships (a record jointly held with FC Zenit Saint Petersburg, Zenit St Petersburg), it is the country's most successful club. Serdar Tasci
Serdar Tasci (; ; born 24 April 1987) is a German former professional Association football, footballer who played as a centre-back. Tasci started his career with VfB Stuttgart in 2006, playing with the club until 2013; captaining the side from 2011; making 181 senior appearances; and helping VfB win the 2006–07 Bundesliga. An injury in his first season at new club, Spartak Moscow, kept him out of action for a large part of the 2013–14 season. He was capped 14 times for Germany national football team, Germany from 2008 to 2010, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup, at which Germany came third.
