Dijon FCO
Dijon Football Côte d'Or (; literally "Dijon Football Gold Coast"), commonly referred to as Dijon FCO or simply as Dijon, is a French football club based in Dijon. The club was founded in 1998 as a result of a merger between two local clubs in the city, and competed in Ligue 2 after suffering relegation from Ligue 1 in the 2011–12 season. The club earned promotion back to Ligue 1 at the end of the 2015–16 season, before again being relegated in 2020–21. The club’s president is Olivier Delcourt. Frédéric Sammaritano (born 23 March 1986) is a French former professional footballer. Career Born in Vannes, Sammaritano spent three seasons at local club Vannes. In his last campaign with the club, he converted three goals and added seven assists. His good performances in Ligue 2 lead many to be interested in securing his signature. Sammaritano joined Auxerre, who finished in third spot during the 2009–10 Ligue 1 season, thus qualifying for UEFA Champions League football. In the 2010–11 Champions League, he scored against Ajax in a 2–1 victory for Auxerre. Florent Balmont (born 2 February 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Balmont began his career at Olympique Lyonnais in the 2002–03 Ligue 1 season after coming through the junior ranks.
