The 2017–18 Danish Cup was the 64th season of the Danish Cup competition. Brøndby IF, Brøndby won the tournament, earning qualification into the third qualifying round of the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League. Structure In the first round, there will be 87 teams. 55 coming from the qualifiers among series teams in season 2016–17 with DBU Bornholm (1 team), Funen Series, DBU Funen (8 teams), DBU Jutland (20 teams) DBU Copenhagen (8 teams), Danish Football Association, DBU Lolland-Falster (3 teams) and Zealand Series, DBU Zealand (15 teams). 22 teams from the 2016-17 Danish 2nd Divisions, 2016–17 2nd Divisions and 8 teams from the 2016-17 Danish 1st Division, 2016–17 1st Division. The last two teams are the bottom two from the 2016-17 Danish Superliga, 2016–17 Superliga. In the second round, there will be 52 teams. 43 of them are winners from the first round (plus one team who received a first-round bye) with 6 teams from the 2016–17 Danish Superliga, 2016–17 Superliga. ...

Danish Cup
The Danish Cup ( da, Landspokalturneringen; often referred to as Pokalen) is the official "knockout" cup competition in Danish football, run by the Danish Football Association. The cup has been contested annually since 1955. The winner will qualify for the UEFA Europa League tournament the following year, where they (as of the 2009–10 season) will enter in the third qualifying round. The latest edition, 2017-18 Danish Cup, was won by Superliga-side Brøndby, beating Superliga-side Silkeborg 3–1 on 10 May 2018 at Parken Stadium, thereby winning their first domestic trophy since 2008. The final traditionally takes place on ''Kristi Himmelfarts Dag'' ( The Ascension) and it is always played in the Danish national stadium Parken. However in the 1991 and 1992 seasons the final had been rescheduled to Odense Stadion and Århus Stadion respectively due to the renovation of Parken.
