2017–18 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's basketball team represented Coastal Carolina University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Chanticleers, led by 11th-year head coach Cliff Ellis, played their home games at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 8–10 in Sun Belt play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament to Texas State. Previous season The Chanticleers finished the 2016–17 season 20–19, 10–8 in Sun Belt play to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. As the No. 8 seed in the Sun Belt tournament, they defeated South Alabama before losing to Texas–Arlington in the quarterfinals. Cliff Ellis
Robert Clifford Ellis (born December 5, 1945) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach at Coastal Carolina University. Going into the 2020–21 season, Coach Ellis's 800 NCAA Division I victories rank him 8th on the list of all-time career coaching victories in NCAA Division I basketball. Ellis is a member of three Halls of Fame after entering Clemson's in 2013. He was already part of the Mobile Sports and Cumberland University Halls of Fame. Ellis has compiled a Division I record of 817-540 (.602) and an overall record of 894-550(.619). He ranks third in NCAA Division I wins among active coaches. He is also just one of four coaches in NCAA Division I history to make multiple NCAA Tournament appearances with four separate schools and has been named conference Coach of the Year six times in his career. 2016–17 Wyoming Cowboys Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Wyoming Cowboys basketball team represented the University of Wyoming during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Allen Edwards in his first year. They played their home games at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming as a member of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 23–15, 8–10 in Mountain West play to finish in seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Mountain West tournament to Air Force. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Eastern Washington, UMKC and Utah Valley to advance to the best-of-three finals series against Coastal Carolina. Muskogee, Oklahoma
Muskogee () is the thirteenth-largest city in Oklahoma and the county seat of Muskogee County. Home to Bacone College, it lies approximately southeast of Tulsa. The population of the city was 36,878 as of the 2020 census, a 6.0 percent decrease from 39,223 in 2010. Cochran, Georgia
Cochran is a city in Bleckley County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 5,026. The city is the county seat of Bleckley County. Cochran is named for Judge Arthur E. Cochran and was incorporated on March 19, 1869. Judge Cochran was largely instrumental in developing this section of Georgia through his work as president of the Macon and Brunswick Railroad, now the Southern Railway (a component of Norfolk Southern Railway).
