2017–18 Armenian First League
The 2017–18 Armenian First League season was the 26th since its establishment. The season was launched on August 7, 2017, and concluded on May 28, 2018. Banants-2 were the defending champions from the previous season. Team changes 3 newly founded teams have joined the 2017–18 Armenian First League season: * Lori FC from Vanadzor, Lori Province *Artsakh FC from Yerevan * FC Ararat-Moskva Yerevan from Yerevan (played as ''FC Avan Academy'' during the 1st half of the season) Stadiums and locations 10 teams will take part in this season's competition, of which only 4 teams - Artsakh, Erebuni, Lori, and Ararat-Moskva- are eligible to get the promotion right to the 2018–19 Armenian Premier League by the end of the competition. Vanadzor Football Academy
The Vanadzor Football Academy ( hy, Վանաձորի ֆուտբոլի ակադեմիա), is a modern football training school-academy located in Armenia's third largest city of Vanadzor, Lori Province. It is the 3rd-largest football academy in Armenia. Overview The construction of the academy was launched in early 2014 by the initiative of the Football Federation of Armenia and the assistance of the UEFA. On 29 October 2016, the complex was officially opened by the FFA president Ruben Hayrapetyan and the governor of Lori Province Artur Nalbandyan. Kasakhi Marzik Stadium ( hy, Քասախի մարզիկ մարզադաշտ) is a football stadium in Ashtarak, Armenia. It was opened in 1971 and is the former home ground of Mika and former club Kasakh FC. Aragatsotn Province
Aragatsotn ( hy, Արագածոտն, ) is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. It is located in the western part of the country. The capital and largest city of the province is the town of Ashtarak. The Statistical Committee of Armenia reported its population was 132,925 in the 2011 census. Etymology Literally meaning "the foot of Aragats" (the highest mountain of Armenia), it is named after the Aragatsotn canton of the historic Ayrarat province of Ancient Armenia, ruled by the Amatuni noble family under the reign of the Arsacid Dynasty. Ashtarak
Ashtarak (Armenian language, Armenian: ), is a town and urban municipal community in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, located on the left bank of Kasagh River along the gorge, northwest of the capital Yerevan. It is the administrative centre of the Aragatsotn province. Ashtarak is an important crossroad of routes for the Yerevan–Gyumri–Vanadzor triangle. Avan District
Avan ( hy, Ավան վարչական շրջան, Avan varčakan šrĵan) is one of the 12 districts of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Originally an ancient village on a hill at the northeastern outskirts of Yerevan, Avan has been inhabited since pre-Christian times. In the 20th century, during the Soviet rule, the village was incorporated into the capital Yerevan. According to the 2011 census, Avan has a population of 53,231. Dzoraghbyur Training Centre
Dzoraghbyur Training Centre, is the training ground and academy base of the Armenian football club FC Ararat Yerevan. Overview Dzoraghbyur Training Centre was opened in 2007 on the grounds of the former Dzoraghbyur Sports Complex in the Dzoraghbyur village of Kotayk Province, 12 km east of the capital Yerevan. The complex was acquired by FC Ararat Yerevan earlier in 2003. In 2004, a large-scale rehabilitation and modernization process was launched. US$ 2 million was allocated by the club for the reconstruction works. The first phase of the training centre was completed in 2007. Mika Stadium
Mika Stadium ( hy, Միկա Մարզադաշտ), is a football stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, built between 2006–2007 and opened in 2008. The capacity of the stadium is 7,000 and serves as the home ground of FC Mika. History The construction of the stadium started in 2006 on the location of the former Araks Stadium. It was completed in 2008 and hosted the first ever match on 22 May of the same year between the U-19 national teams of Spain and Ukraine. The match ended-up with a 3–1 victory for the Spaniards. The first ever goal in Mika Stadium was scored by the Ukraine U-19 player Andriy Yarmolenko with a penalty kick at the 18th minute of the match. Kotayk Province
Kotayk ( hy, Կոտայք, ), is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. It is located at the central part of the country. Its capital is Hrazdan and the largest city is Abovyan.
