2017 World Table Tennis Championships – Men's Doubles
The 2017 World Table Tennis Championships men's doubles was the 54th edition of the men's doubles championship. Xu Xin and Zhang Jike were the defending champions but Zhang did not compete this year. Fan Zhendong and Xu Xin defeated Masataka Morizono and Yuya Oshima 11–9, 16–14, 11–9, 6–11, 13–11 in the final to win the title. Gustavo Tsuboi (born 31 May 1985, São Paulo) is a table tennis player from Brazil, he won three medals in double and team events in the Pan American Games. Along with Hugo Hoyama and Thiago Monteiro, Tsuboi was part of the winning team at the 2007 Pan American Games and 2011 Pan American Games. Tsuboi won the gold medal at the inaugural 2011 Latin American Cup held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after defeating Paraguay's Marcelo Aguirre 4–0. Jang Woo-jin (born 10 September 1995) is a South Korean table tennis player. He plays for Mirae Asset Daewoo table tennis team. Career Junior Jang started playing international matches from the South Korean cadet boys' team in 2009 – Bahrain Junior Open held in Manama, Bahrain. Kristian Gunnar Karlsson (; born 6 August 1991) is a Swedish professional table tennis player. Career Born in Trollhättan, Västra Götaland, Karlsson started to play table tennis in his hometown club at the age of 8. He remained in Trollhättan until he was 16, subsequently he moved away from home to go to high school. During his high school years Karlsson had 10 training sessions a week.
