2017 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup
The 2017 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 16th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held in two cities, Lima and Cañete, in Peru from 17 June to 25 June. Twelve teams competed in the tournament. The United States won the title when they defeated the Dominican Republic 3–1 in the final. American Micha Hancock was awarded the Most Valuable Player. Brenda Castillo
Brenda Castillo (born June 5, 1992, in San Cristóbal) is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic and plays as a libero. She was a member of the Dominican Republic national team that won fifth place in the 2012 Summer Olympics, while she was named the tournament's Best Libero. She played in the 2014 World Championship reaching also the fifth place and ranking 17th in the 2010 World Championship and the 2011 FIVB World Cup where her national team ranked eight and the 2015 FIVB World Cup, winning the Best Libero individual award and ranking in seventh place. Karch Kiraly
Charles Frederick "Karch" Kiraly () (born November 3, 1960) is an American volleyball player, coach and broadcast announcer. In the 1980s he was a central part of the U.S National Team that won gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He went on to win the gold medal again at the 1996 Olympic Games, the first Olympic competition to feature beach volleyball. He is the only player (man or woman) to have won Olympic medals of any color in both the indoor and beach volleyball categories. He played college volleyball for the UCLA Bruins, where his teams won three national championships under head coach Al Scates. Elizabeth "Liz" McMahon (born February 27, 1993) is an American volleyball player. She was a silver medalist on the 2010 Junior Olympic volleyball team, the first athlete at the University of Illinois to win the Senior Class award, and a gold medalist at the 2017 Pan American Cup. Early life and education McMahon was born on February 27, 1993, to parents Kevin and Janine McMahon. She has a brother, Colin, and a sister, Clare. Paige Nicole Sander (; born June 21, 1995) is an American former volleyball player who played in the middle blocker position. Sander played collegiately for Minnesota from 2013 to 2016 where she was an All-American and was a member of the U.S. national team.
