2017 Women's British Open
The 2017 Ricoh Women's British Open was played 3–6 August in Scotland at Kingsbarns Golf Links in Fife. It was the 41st Women's British Open, the 17th as a major championship on the LPGA Tour, and the first at Kingsbarns, southeast of nearby St Andrews. This was the first WBO organised by The R&A, which merged with the Ladies' Golf Union in late 2016. The event was televised by Golf Channel and NBC Sports in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Field The field was 144 players, and most earned exemptions based on past performance on the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA Tour, previous major championships, or with a high ranking in the Women's World Golf Rankings. The rest of the field earned entry by successfully competing in qualifying tournaments open to any female golfer, professional or amateur, with a low handicap. Mo Martin
Melissa Linda "Mo" Martin (born October 8, 1982) is an American professional golfer playing on the LPGA Tour. Her sole win on the tour was a major championship, the Women's British Open in 2014. College career Martin played college golf all four years at UCLA, walking-on as a freshman. She was the Bruins' Most Valuable Player in 2002, earned UCLA academic honors, and was also a three-time Pac-10 Academic Honorable Mention selection. Stacy Lewis (born February 16, 1985) is an American professional golfer on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She has won two major championships: the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2011 and the Women's British Open in 2013. Lee Mi-hyang ( ko, 이미향, born 30 March 1993), also known as Mi Hyang Lee is a South Korean professional golfer. Lee turned professional in 2011. She earned her LPGA Tour card through qualifying school and played on both the LPGA Tour and Symetra Tour in 2012. Megan Khang
Megan Khang (born October 23, 1997) is an American professional golfer. She plays on the LPGA Tour and is the first player of Hmong and Laotian descent to do so. Khang's parents were refugees from the Vietnam War from Laos and came to the United States with their respective families in the 1970s. Khang was born in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1997 and learned the sport from her father. She qualified for the 2012 U.S. Women's Open at the age of 14. She won several events as a junior golfer and played on the United States Junior Solheim Cup team in 2015. Beth Allen (born December 6, 1981) is an American professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour (LET). Allen played on the LPGA Tour from 2005 to 2008 after finishing tied for 25th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. Allen qualified for the Ladies European Tour for the 2009 season.
