2017 Ulster Senior Football Championship
The 2017 Ulster Senior Football Championship was the 129th instalment of the annual Ulster Senior Football Championship organised by the Ulster GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2017 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. The winners receive The Anglo-Celt Cup. Tyrone are the defending champions. The draw for the Championship was made on 13 October 2016. Tyrone beat Down in the final with a score of 2-17 to 0-15. Mickey Harte
Mickey Harte (born 1952) is an Irish Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player. He has been manager of the Louth county football team, Louth county team since 2020. Harte managed the Tyrone county football team, Tyrone county team from 2002 until his resignation in 2020, at which time he was the longest-serving manager then active with the same team in inter-county competition. He is the most successful senior manager in the county's history, having led it to its only three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, All-Ireland SFC titles, as well as six Ulster Senior Football Championship, Ulster SFC titles, one National Football League (Ireland), National League and twelve Dr McKenna Cups. Kieran McGeeney (born 18 October 1971) is an Irish people, Irish Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player, who currently manages his native county, having previously managed the senior Kildare county football team, Kildare county team from 2007 until 2013. McGeeney played football with his local club Mullaghbawn Cúchullain's GFC, Mullaghbawn Cúchullain's in Armagh and also for CLG Na Fianna, Na Fianna club in Dublin. 1993 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 1993 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 107th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 16 May 1993 and ended on 19 September 1993. Donegal entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Derry in the Ulster final played during a deluge in Clones. Derry went on to win the Sam Maguire Cup for the first time, beating Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final and then Cork in the All-Ireland final by 1-14 to 2-8. Seamas Downey scored Derry's only goal, with his Lavey club mate, John McGurk, being named RTÉ man of the match. Damian Barton
Damian Barton (born 19 May 1962) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Derry county team in the 1980s and 1990s. He has served as manager of Derry senior football team. He was part of Derry's 1993 All-Ireland Championship winning side, also winning Ulster Senior Football Championships in 1987 and 1993. He usually played in the half-forward line. Barton played club football with Seán O'Leary's GAC Newbridge, where he won a Derry Senior Football Championship in 1989. He also writes for ''The Irish News''. The 1997 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 111th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 11 May 1997 and ended on 28 September 1997. Meath entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Offaly in the Leinster final. On 28 September 1997 Kerry, the most successful county in Gaelic football history, claimed their 31st All-Ireland title - and their first since 1986 - with a 0–13 to 1–7 victory over Mayo. Gearóid McKiernan
Gearóid McKiernan (born 17 September 1990) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Cavan county team. He plays with the Cavan Gaels club, and formerly with his home club Swanlinbar. Playing career Club Swanlinbar McKiernan joined the Swanlinbar club at a young age and played at all grades underage. McKiernan was on the Swanlinbar team in 2006 that won the Cavan Junior Football Championship. Swanlinbar reached the Junior final again in 2009, but were beaten by Butlersbridge. The following year Swanlinbar were back in the Junior Final, where they faced 2006 runners-up Munterconnaught.
