2017 USA Indoor Track And Field Championships
The 2017 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships was held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Organized by USA Track and Field (USATF), the three-day competition took place from March 3 to March 5 and served as the national championships in track and field for the United States. Shaquille Walker (born February 2, 1993 in Blue Island, Illinois) is an American retired track runner competing for the United States and a former Brigham Young University track student-athlete. Prep Walker is African-American, born in Blue Island, Illinois. His family moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia when he was very young. Walker was raised Baptist. He converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while in high school and served a mission for the church in the Manchester, England. John Hamilton Nunn (born February 3, 1978) is an American race walker. He competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing in 26th place in the men's 20 km event. Jarret Eaton (born June 24, 1989) is an American track and field athlete, known for running hurdles. He won the silver medal in the 60 metre hurdles at the 2018 World Indoor Championships while being coached by Lawrence Terry, and took a bronze in 2022. Eaton was the 2016 and 2018 American champion in the 60 metre hurdles. That qualified him to run in the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland, where he finished fourth. He returned to the 2018 World Championships in Birmingham, taking the silver medal, after leading the race until hitting the final hurdle, behind Britain's Andrew Pozzi and ahead of France's Aurel Manga. Aries Merritt (born July 24, 1985) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 110 metre hurdles, and currently holds the world record in that event with a time of 12.80 s set on September 7, 2012. He won the gold medal in the 110 metre hurdles at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Ryan Hill (born January 31, 1990) is an American long-distance runner. Hill was a silver medalist at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships after finishing second in the 3,000 meters. He represented the United States at the 2009 IAAF World Cross Country Championships – Junior men's race 52nd place, 2013 World Championships in Athletics and the 2015 World Championships in Athletics, where he ran the 5000 meters at both finishing 7th and 5th, respectively. William "Woody" Kincaid (born September 21, 1992) is an American long-distance runner. He won the gold medal for the 5000 meters at the 2022 NACAC Championships. Kincaid is the North American indoor record holder in that event. Paul Kipkemoi Chelimo (born October 27, 1990) is an Kenyan born American track and field athlete. He is the 2016 Olympic silver medalist and the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist in the 5000 meters. Garrett Heath (born November 3, 1985) is an American runner from Winona, Minnesota, who raced in various middle and long-distance running events. He represented the United States at the 2010 World Indoor Championships where he finished seventh in the 1500 meters. He is the elder brother of Elliott Heath. Cristian Soratos (born September 26, 1992) is an American professional middle-distance runner. Born in Salinas, California, he first took up competitive running at Salinas High School. He then ran at Hartnell College where he eventually became All-State, after which he was recruited to Montana State University.
