The 2017 Turkish Super Cup ( Turkish: TFF Süper Kupa) was the 44th edition of the Turkish Super Cup since its establishment as ''Presidential Cup'' in 1966, the annual Turkish football season-opening match contested by the winners of the previous season's top league and cup competitions (or cup runner-up in case the league- and cup-winning club is the same). It was played on 6 August 2017 between the champions of 2016–17 Süper Lig, Beşiktaş, and the winners of 2016–17 Turkish Cup, Konyaspor. The Turkish Super Cup ( Turkish: ''TFF Süper Kupa''), as it is currently known, is the annual super cup football match contested between the previous season's Süper Lig champions and the Turkish Cup winners in Turkey. It was originally known as the ''Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası'' (Presidential Cup) from 1966 to 1998. No competition was held between 1999 and 2005, although there was a substitute competition played under the name of Atatürk Cup in 2000. The rebranded ''TFF Süper Kupa'' is a curtain raiser for the upcoming footballing season, usually taking place in August. In case of a team achieving the double, the Turkish Cup runners-up become finalists. Nejc Skubic (born 13 June 1989) is a retired Slovenian footballer who played as a right-back. Abdou Razack Traoré (born 28 December 1988) is an Ivorian-born Burkinabé professional footballer who plays for Chinese club Nantong Zhiyun. Career Rosenborg Traoré was born in Abidjan, the Ivory Coast. He played for Raja Casablanca before he ended his contract and joined Rosenborg on a free transfer a few months later. Cenk Tosun (; born 7 June 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Süper Lig club Beşiktaş and the Turkey national team. After making one Bundesliga appearance for Eintracht Frankfurt, he transferred to Gaziantepspor in January 2011, where he won the Spor Toto Cup in 2012. The 2016–17 Süper Lig (known as the ''Spor Toto Süper Lig'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 59th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier football league of Turkey. The season was named after Turgay Şeren, a legendary goalkeeper of the Turkish national team who also played for and coached Galatasaray. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. Beşiktaş () is a district and municipality of Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European shore of the Bosphorus strait.
