2017 Tulsa Roughnecks FC Season
The 2017 Tulsa Roughnecks FC season is the club's third season of existence, and their third in the United Soccer League. It is the club's first season playing in the second division of American soccer following U.S. Soccer's sanctioning of USL as a Division II professional league. Including the previous iterations of franchises named ''"Tulsa Roughnecks"'', this is the 17th season of a soccer club named the "Roughnecks" playing in the Tulsa metropolitan area. Outside of the USL, the Roughnecks participated in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup. FC Tulsa (USL)
FC Tulsa is an American professional soccer team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma which competes in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. History The club was founded as Tulsa Roughnecks FC by Jeff and Dale Hubbard, brothers and co-owners of the Tulsa Drillers minor league baseball franchise. The Hubbards were announced as co-owners and co-chairs on December 18, 2013. Prodigal, LLC., owner of Oklahoma City Energy FC, another USL club, served as a minority owner. On February 26, 2014, it was announced that the team would be known as Tulsa Roughnecks FC, paying homage to the original Roughnecks which played in the original North American Soccer League from 1978 until the league folded in 1984 (and were best known for winning Soccer Bowl '83). Fort Lauderdale Strikers (2006–2016)
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers were an American professional soccer team based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida founded in 2006, that last played in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American soccer pyramid in 2016. The majority of their home games were played in Lockhart Stadium. The Strikers were named after the original Strikers, who played in the old North American Soccer League from 1977 to 1983. Jorge Luis Corrales
Jorge Luis Corrales Cordero (born 20 May 1991) is a Cuban professional footballer who plays as a defender for USL League One club Lexington SC and the Cuba national team. Club career Corrales began his career in 2009, playing for FC Pinar del Río in his hometown of Pinar del Río. He was the captain of FC Pinar del Río from 2011 until 2015, when he was loaned to FC Sancti Spíritus. Corrales was named Pinar del Río's MVP in the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. Paris Donald Gee (born July 5, 1994) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Vancouver FC in the Canadian Premier League. Bryan Byars (born October 2, 1991) is an American soccer player who currently plays as goalkeeper. Youth career At Putnam City North High School, Byars was named All-America and All-State his senior year. He was also named All-District from his sophomore year to his senior year. In 2008, Byars was a Gatorade National Player of the Year nominee. He was also named Oklahoma State Player Of The Year as a sophomore.
