2017 Tour Of Iran (Azerbaijan)
Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan) 2017 was a UCI 2.1 Asian Tour stage race and the 32nd edition of Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan) which took place across six stages October 8–13, 2017 in Iranian Azerbaijan. The total length of the tour was 1,017.0 km with its route passing through Tabriz, Urmia, Jolfa, Sarein, and Sahand Ski Resort. A total of 14 Iranian and International teams participated in this edition of the tour. Rob Ruijgh
Rob Ruijgh (; born 12 November 1986) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist. Career Amateur career Ruijgh was born in Heerlen, and liked to watch cycling on television as a youth. After visiting the local velodrome in Geleen, he started racing at the age of 9. In 1998, he became Dutch Youth Champion for 12-year-olds in Oldenzaal. With continued good results, he came into the picture of the former Dutch national coach Egon van Kessel. As he became older, van Kessel invited Ruijgh to compete against foreign opponents of his age, which are also among the best in their country. Ruijgh did not disappoint, winning the highly regarded World Cup Giro della Lunigiana in 2004. Shortly after that he also rode the Men's Junior World Championships in Verona, Italy. Koos Jeroen Kers
Koos Jeroen Kers (born 11 October 1986) is a Dutch racing cyclist, who currently rides for Dutch amateur team TWC de Kempen. He won the first stage of the 2017 Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan). This win made him the general classification leader, but he lost the lead on the next stage. He also had top-ten finishes on the third and sixth stages. The first stage win was his first professional victory, and the second year in a row a Dutchman won a stage of the Tour of Azerbaijan (Iran). Davide Rebellin (9 August 1971 – 30 November 2022) was an Italian professional road bicycle racer, who last rode for UCI Continental team . Sareyn
Sareyn ( fa, سرعين, also Romanized as Sar‘eyn, Sara’eyn, Sar‘eīn, Sar ‘Eyn, and Sarein) is a city in the Central District of Sareyn County, Ardabil province, Iran, and serves as capital of the county. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,478 in 1,135 households. The following census in 2011 counted 4,440 people in 1,241 households. The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,459 people in 1,582 households. Sareyn is known for its hot springs. Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone (abbreviated as AFZ) is located in the Northwest of Iran at the border point with neighboring Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
