2017 Toronto FC Season
The 2017 Toronto FC season was the 11th season in the history of Toronto FC. On June 27, 2017, Toronto FC won their sixth Canadian Championship 3–2 on aggregate over Montreal, earning them a spot in the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. On September 30, Toronto FC won their first Supporters' Shield with a 4–2 home win over New York Red Bulls, to clinch top of the league with the most points that season. By doing so, they also became the first Canadian team to win the Supporters' Shield. In Toronto FC's last regular season match of the season on October 22, Toronto FC drew 2–2 away to Atlanta; in doing so, Toronto FC broke the MLS regular season point record with 69 points. On November 29, Toronto FC won the Eastern Conference Championship for the second year in a row, with a 1–0 aggregate win over the Columbus Crew. Toronto Football Club (commonly known as Toronto FC or TFC) is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. MLS Cup 2017 was the 22nd edition of the MLS Cup, the championship of Major League Soccer (MLS), contested between Toronto FC and Seattle Sounders FC on December 9, 2017. The association football, soccer match was hosted at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, for the second consecutive year and third time overall. Both teams made their second appearance in the MLS Cup, in a rematch of the MLS Cup 2016, 2016 edition. After a goalless first half, Toronto FC took the lead in the 67th minute through a Jozy Altidore goal. Drew Moor
Drew Moor (born January 15, 1984) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a center-back in Major League Soccer. Born in Dallas, Moor began playing college soccer for the Furman Paladins before transferring to the Indiana Hoosiers. After three seasons with the Hoosiers, and helping the side with the 2004 College Cup, Moor was drafted in the first round of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas with the 6th overall pick. He spent five seasons with FC Dallas, winning U.S. Open Cup titles, before being traded to the Colorado Rapids. In his full-debut season, Moor helped the Rapids win MLS Cup 2010, the club's first league championship title. Justin Morrow
Justin Morrow (born October 4, 1987) is an American retired professional soccer player. Morrow is the executive director of ''Black Players for Change'', which in 2020 won the MLS Humanitarian of the Year Award. College and amateur career Morrow attended Saint Ignatius High School, where he was an adidas/NSCAA high school All-American. He played college soccer at the University of Notre Dame. He was a Big East Academic All-Star in both his sophomore and junior years as well as his team's captain during his senior season. Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States.
