2017 Symetra Tour
The 2017 Symetra Tour was a series of professional women's golf tournaments held from March through October 2017 in the United States. The Symetra Tour is the second-tier women's professional golf tour in the United States and is the "official developmental tour" of the LPGA Tour. It was previously known as the Futures Tour. In 2017, total prize money on the Symetra Tour was $2,950,000, down from $3,200,000 in 2016. Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. The Twin Bridges Championship is an annual golf tournament for professional women golfers on the Epson Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. The event has been played since 1984 and is held in the Albany, New York area. In 2010 and 2011, the title sponsor was Price Chopper, a chain of supermarkets headquartered in Schenectady, New York. The PHC Classic was a tournament on the Symetra Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. It was part of the Symetra Tour's schedule between 2015 and 2020. It was held at Brown Deer Park Golf Course in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, host venue for the PGA Tour's Greater Milwaukee Open. The 2020 tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It aws held at Brook-Lea Country Club, designed by Donald Ross, outside Rochester, New York. The tournament was created to honor the legacy of Danielle Downey a native of the Rochester area who played on the LPGA Tour and died in 2014. The French Lick Charity Championship is a tournament on the Epson Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. It has been a part of the Symetra Tour's schedule since 2017. It is held at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana. The tournament is held on the Donald Ross Course, named in honor of the Scottish-born golf course designer Donald Ross, who built the resort's second course in 1917. Yu Liu (born 15 November 1995) is a Chinese professional golfer and member of the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Liu was born in Beijing and had a successful junior career where she won several tournaments in the U.S. and China. She reached the semifinals of the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship in 2011, won by Ariya Jutanugarn. Emma Ruth Talley (born March 23, 1994) is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. While playing as an amateur at the University of Alabama, she won the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur by defeating Yueer Cindy Feng in the 36-hole final match, 2 & 1. Early life Talley was born in Paducah, Kentucky on March 23, 1994. Her parents are Dan and Jennifer Talley. She has an older sister, Leigh, and two brothers, Joe and Jackson.
