2017 Stanford Cardinal Men's Soccer Team
The 2017 Stanford Cardinal men's soccer team represented Stanford University during the 2017 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It is the 44th season of the university fielding a program. It the program's sixth season with Jeremy Gunn as head coach. The Cardinal played their home matches at Cagan Stadium. The Cardinal's 2017 season saw the Cardinal threepeat and win the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament for the third-consecutive year. The Cardinal also won the Pac-12 Conference championship for the fourth consecutive year. Stanford's NCAA success marked only the second time in NCAA history that a Division I program won the Men's Soccer Championship for three straight seasons. The last feat was Bruce Arena's Virginia teams that won the NCAA tournament from 1991 through 1994. Jeremy Gunn
Jeremy Gunn is an English retired association football midfielder who is the head men's soccer coach at Stanford University. He played professionally in the USISL. Player Gunn played in both the Grimsby Town F.C. and Scunthorpe United F.C. youth systems in his native England before coming to the United States. He attended Cal State Bakersfield where he was a 1992 First Team NCAA Division II All American soccer player. In 1993, he joined the Chico Rooks of the USISL. In 1998, he moved to the Nashville Metros. On 29 May 1998, the Metros traded Gunn to the Charleston Battery for John Jones and a 1999 draft pick. Coach Even while playing professionally, Gunn was also coaching. In 1993, he became an assistant at Cal-State Bakersfield. In 1999, he became the head coach of the Fort Lewis College soccer team. Foster Langsdorf
Foster Langsdorf (born December 14, 1995) is an American former professional soccer player. After a very successful collegiate career at Stanford, he played for several teams over the course of five seasons. Most of is appearances were for Portland Timbers 2; he made a total of four appearances for Portland Timbers and Minnesota United of Major League Soccer. Langsdorf would announce his retirement in 2021. Career Youth and college Langsdorf played four years of college soccer for Stanford, winning three NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championships in the process. Sam Werner (born December 3, 1995) is a former American soccer player who previously played for Sacramento Republic FC in the USL Championship. Logan Panchot
Logan Charles Panchot (born July 8, 1998) is a former American soccer player. He is now the founder of Clear Contracts, an early stage start up that specializes in making an easy way for businesses to adopt blockchain technology. Career Youth, College & Amateur Panchot was born in Napa, California, but grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Here he was part of the St. Louis Scott Gallagher academy for over 10 years. Charles Allen Wehan (born October 31, 1998) is an American soccer player who plays as a forward. Zachary Thomas Ryan (born January 14, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for Loudoun United. Amir Bashti (born March 21, 1997) is an American soccer player who last played for USL Championship club Atlanta United 2. Early life Bashti was born and raised in San Jose, California. He attended Monta Vista High School in Cupertino and played youth soccer for the San Jose Earthquakes Academy. He is of Iranian descent.
